Fits Dell Inspiron Mini 10, Mini 1011, Mini 10v netbooks replacing OEM part J590M.
11.1V and 2200mAh delivers 24.42Wh — sustains the Atom processor and 10-inch display without throttling.
Connector slides straight into the internal battery slot with a single plastic locking tab on the right side.
We bench-tested the cell on a Mini 1011 motherboard; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation-cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dell Inspiron Mini 10 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (J590M)

This is an 11.1V 2200mAh Li-ion battery for the Dell Inspiron Mini 10, Mini 10v, Mini 1011, and PP19S netbooks. It replaces OEM part numbers J590M, 312-0867, 312-0931, F144M, H766N, and K711N. Fit the battery when the original no longer holds a charge or fails to power the unit away from mains.

  • Mini 10 series compatibility: The Mini 10, Mini 10v, and Mini 1011 all share the same 11.1V three-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — which is why one cell works across the whole lineup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a Mini 1011 and confirmed full BMS handshake, charge acceptance to 100%, and correct voltage reporting at the system board. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-cell threshold.
  • First-cycle reset on the Mini 10: After installing, run the netbook on battery until it hibernates from low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell

The Dell BIOS stores battery health data in EEPROM on the old cell. When you swap cells, the BIOS reads no recognised history and flags the battery as degraded or unknown — even though the cell is new. This is not a fault with the replacement. Run one complete discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge. After two or three cycles, the learn cycle completes and the health flag clears.

Mini 10 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

The fuel gauge IC on the Mini 10 calibrates against the old cell's discharge curve. A new cell with different internal resistance causes the gauge to misread remaining capacity — the display shows 25% while actual cell voltage has already hit the cutoff threshold under load. The system shuts down to protect the cell, not because the battery is faulty. Complete two full discharge-to-hibernate then charge-to-100% cycles and the fuel gauge IC will recalibrate against the new cell's actual curve. After calibration, shutdown should track accurately to below 5% remaining.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dell BIOS says "consider replacing your battery" the moment I installed this — is the cell actually bad?

No — the BIOS reads health history stored in EEPROM on the old cell, so a new cell with no stored history triggers that warning immediately. Run the laptop on battery until it hibernates from low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. Repeat that cycle twice and the BIOS learn cycle will register the new cell and clear the warning.

My Mini 10 shows 24Wh in system info but the battery spec says 24.42Wh — why does the number not match?

System info pulls the Wh figure from EEPROM data written to the cell at manufacture. Minor rounding differences between the EEPROM-stored value and the calculated rated capacity (voltage × mAh) are normal and do not indicate a fault. The cell itself is spec-correct at 11.1V and 2200mAh. No action needed — the discrepancy does not affect charge behaviour or capacity.

New charge stopped at 80% and will not go higher — is the charger or the battery the problem?

On Dell Inspiron Mini systems, a BIOS setting called "Primary AC Adapter" or a battery charge limit can cap charging at 80% as a cell-preservation feature. Check the Dell Power Manager utility or BIOS power settings and disable the charge threshold if it is active. If no limit is set and charge still stops at 80%, connect AC, let the battery sit at that level for 30 minutes, then check whether the charge resumes — some BMS circuits pause at 80% before topping the cell. Confirm the BIOS charge threshold is off before suspecting a cell fault.
