This is an 11.1V, 4400mAh (48.84Wh) Li-ion battery pack for the Dell Vostro 1200 and Vostro 1200n laptops. It replaces OEM part numbers BATFT00L4, BATFT00L6, RM627, RM628, 4UR18650-2-T0044, and 3UR18650-2-T0044. Fits the original battery bay without modification.
- Vostro 1200 and 1200n compatibility: Both the Vostro 1200 and 1200n share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. A single cell swap covers both variants — no adapter or firmware change needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a Vostro 1200 unit. The BMS handshake completed cleanly, the OS recognised the pack, and charge current behaved correctly at each stage from trickle through to float.

The Vostro 1200 BIOS reads EEPROM data stored on the battery controller, not live cell voltage. When a new pack is installed, that EEPROM data does not match the BIOS's learnt charge profile for the old cell, so it flags the battery as degraded. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run a full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then a single uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle, the BIOS rewrites its health baseline and the warning clears.
Laptop shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on the gauge
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the safe operating threshold under full CPU and display load before the fuel gauge reaches zero — a voltage cliff. The fuel gauge IC is still working from a calibration map built around the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell's curve sits in a different position, so the gauge reads high while the actual voltage is already too low to sustain the load. Fix it by running two complete calibration cycles: discharge fully to automatic hibernate, then charge to 100% each time. After two cycles the fuel gauge IC recalibrates to the new cell and the shutdowns stop.

The OS fuel gauge is jumping around and showing wildly different percentages — is the new battery faulty?
The fuel gauge IC in the Vostro 1200 builds its charge map against the old cell over dozens of cycles. When a new cell goes in, that map is wrong and the gauge swings until the IC recalibrates. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate then uninterrupted charge-to-100% cycles. After both cycles the readings stabilise.
Windows is showing the wrong Wh rating in Device Manager for this replacement battery — it says something different from the spec on the listing.
The Wh figure Windows reads comes from the EEPROM on the battery controller, which holds the rated capacity value written at the factory. If the EEPROM value was set to a different cell configuration than the actual chemistry installed, Device Manager will show a mismatched number. This does not affect charge behaviour or actual capacity delivered. Confirm actual capacity by running a full calibration cycle and checking the discharge log — 48.84Wh is the correct rated value for this pack.
The new battery stopped charging at around 80% and will not go higher — BIOS setting or bad cell?
Dell's BIOS on several Vostro models includes a charge limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress when the laptop runs plugged in most of the time. Check the BIOS under Power Management for a "Primary Battery Charge Configuration" option. Switch it from "Custom" or "Primarily AC" to "Standard" and the charge limit lifts back to 100%.
