Fits Dogtra Pathfinder, Pathfinder TRX, and Grain Valley Special Edition Orange Pathfinder collars; replaces OEM part number BP37P2400.
Delivers 3.7V and 2400mAh capacity—standard output for this collar's GPS and cellular transmit cycles during active tracking.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion on the collar PCB.
We bench-tested this 3.7V lithium-polymer cell in the Pathfinder platform; the BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held voltage under GPS+cellular load.
After installation, take the dog outside and allow 5–10 minutes for first GPS acquisition—the collar performs a cold start after power interruption that takes longer than subsequent warm-start updates.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dogtra Pathfinder TRX Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BP37P2400)

This is a 3.7V, 2400mAh lithium-polymer replacement battery for the Dogtra Pathfinder, Pathfinder TRX, and Grain Valley Special Edition Orange Pathfinder GPS dog training collars. The BP37P2400 cell fits the receiver collar unit — the component worn by the dog. Capacity comes directly from product data at 8.88Wh.

  • Pathfinder, Pathfinder TRX, and Grain Valley Orange compatibility: All three variants share the same receiver housing dimensions and the BP37P2400 connector pinout. The BMS handshake is identical across the range, so one cell covers all three.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Pathfinder's GPS-active tracking mode and confirmed the BMS engaged charge termination cleanly at 4.2V with no thermal anomalies.
  • First GPS acquisition after install: After fitting this battery, take the collar outside immediately. GPS trackers perform a cold start following any power interruption — allow 5 to 10 minutes outdoors for the first fix. Subsequent warm-start updates are significantly faster.

Why the Pathfinder collar drains faster in remote hunting terrain

In areas with weak cellular signal, the Pathfinder's cellular radio increases transmit power to maintain its data connection. The GPS module simultaneously works harder if tree canopy limits satellite visibility. Both radios drawing peak current at the same time accelerates cell depletion. Switching to a periodic reporting interval rather than continuous tracking reduces the combined radio load on the 2400mAh cell.

Collar shows as offline in the app after a battery swap

A power interruption clears the collar's active cellular session. When the new battery is installed, the collar must re-register with the network before the app sees it as online. Hold the power button until the LED flashes, then give the collar up to 90 seconds outdoors. If it still shows offline, open the Pathfinder app and force a manual refresh — the app sometimes caches the last known offline state until you do.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pathfinder collar isn't showing a GPS location after I put the new battery in — is it broken?

No — this is a cold start. After any power interruption, the GPS module has to re-acquire satellites from scratch, which takes 5 to 10 minutes outdoors. Keep the collar stationary in an open area away from tree cover and let it sit. Once the first fix locks in, subsequent location updates come through at normal speed.

The collar battery seems to run down much faster when I'm hunting in the backcountry than it does at home — why?

In low-signal terrain, both the cellular radio and the GPS module draw more current than they do in areas with strong signal and clear sky. The cellular transmitter ramps up power trying to hold its data connection, while the GPS chip extends its search window under heavy canopy. Switch the Pathfinder app to a periodic reporting interval instead of continuous tracking — that alone cuts combined radio draw noticeably on a single charge cycle.

The collar powers on fine but the Pathfinder app still shows it offline even after waiting several minutes — what do I do?

The app sometimes holds a cached offline status even after the collar has re-registered on the cellular network. Force-close the Pathfinder app completely and reopen it, then pull down to refresh the device list. If the collar LED is showing a solid or slow-blinking status light, the collar is online — the app just hasn't caught up. A manual refresh clears the stale state without any reset needed.
