Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dolphin 70e / 75e / 60s — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (70e-BTEC)
This 3.7V, 3200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Dolphin 70e, 75e, and 60s handheld barcode scanners. It matches the original cell voltage and physical format, fitting directly into the battery bay without modification. Capacity figures are taken from product data — 11.84Wh total energy.
- 70e, 75e, and 60s platform compatibility: All three models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, identical connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one pack covers all three. Swapping between models does not require firmware changes or recalibration.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through scan-trigger inrush cycles and wireless radio polling loads simultaneously. The BMS held the output rail steady across combined draw spikes without tripping into protection mode.
- First-shift preparation: After installing this pack, seat the scanner in its charging cradle and complete a full charge cycle before beginning pick-and-pack operations. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near its minimum state of charge — starting the first shift on a fully charged cell prevents false BMS trips during heavy scanning bursts.
Cradle showing charging error on a new pack
Charging errors on a freshly installed pack are almost always a contact resistance issue, not a battery fault. The dock pins on the 70e cradle oxidise over time, and a new pack with clean contacts can actually highlight the problem — the BMS sees a voltage drop at the interface and flags an error. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and the cradle pins with a dry cloth, then reseat the pack firmly. If the error clears within 30 seconds of reseating, the contacts were the cause.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During rapid barcode scanning, the device draws power simultaneously from the imager, the processor, and the wireless radio. A degraded or deeply discharged cell cannot sustain that combined load without the voltage rail sagging below the radio module's minimum operating threshold — the radio drops out first. This is not a firmware issue or a network problem. Charge the pack to full before the shift and check that the terminal voltage reads at least 3.7V under load using the device's diagnostics menu.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Dolphin 70e won't read barcodes after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?
The imager or laser module requires a minimum voltage to fire reliably, and a new pack shipped in storage state may not have enough charge to meet that threshold. This causes intermittent or failed reads even though the device appears to power on normally. Place the scanner in its cradle and complete a full charge cycle first. Once the pack reaches full charge, the scan trigger should respond on the first press.
The 70e feels noticeably warm after a few hours of continuous scanning — is that a battery problem?
Sustained heat during extended shifts is a product of the combined draw from the wireless radio, the scan trigger, and the processor all running inside a compact enclosed housing. The battery itself generates some heat under continuous discharge, but the enclosed form factor traps it. Check that the ventilation slots on the housing are clear of label debris or dust. If the unit gets hot enough to trigger an automatic shutdown, the BMS is protecting the cell — let the device cool for 10 minutes before resuming use.
This replacement pack doesn't seem to last as long per shift as my original battery did — what's causing that?
Shift endurance depends on scan burst frequency and how often the wireless radio polls the network — both draw current simultaneously and shorten the discharge curve faster than light use suggests. If your operation has increased scan volume or moved to more frequent network check-ins, the load profile is higher than it was when the original pack was new. Confirm the pack is completing a full charge cycle in the cradle before each shift, not just a partial top-up. A partial charge going into a heavy shift will always cut the usable window short.
