Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dynabook Satellite Pro C40-K Series — 11.55V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PS0132UA1BRS)
This 11.55V, 3950mAh (45.62Wh) lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Dynabook Satellite Pro C40-K series. It fits the C40-K-00L007, C40-K-00Q007, C40-K-0CV007, and C40-K-14250 among others. Connector layout and BMS communication lines match the OEM spec PS0132UA1BRS exactly.
- Satellite Pro C40-K platform fit: These C40-K variants share the same 11.55V three-cell Li-Polymer configuration, connector pinout, and BMS data lines. The same battery rail powers all of them, so one cell covers the range without rewiring or adapters.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a C40-K chassis, confirmed the BMS handshake completed without fault flags, and verified charge acceptance across all three cells reached full voltage without thermal events.
- BIOS learn-cycle reset after install: After fitting this cell, run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff under normal load, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This clears the stale EEPROM data from the old cell and lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new chemistry.
Why the Satellite Pro C40-K reports poor battery health immediately after a cell swap
The C40-K reads battery health from EEPROM data stored on the battery's BMS chip, not from live cell measurements. When you fit a new cell, the BIOS compares the new EEPROM profile against the logged history of the old one and flags a mismatch as degraded health. This is a firmware behaviour, not a fault with the replacement. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by a complete uninterrupted charge cycle resets the learn cycle and clears the warning.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge remaining after battery swap
This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds calibration data from the old, degraded cell. It maps the new cell's voltage curve incorrectly, so it reads 20–30% at a point where the cell is actually near its floor voltage. Under full CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops sharply at that point and the system cuts out. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and full charge cycles to force the gauge IC to relearn the new cell's voltage curve. After calibration, the shutdown threshold should align with the real 0% floor near 10.5V per pack.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Satellite Pro C40-K shows the new battery as "unknown" or 0% in Windows immediately after installation — what's wrong?
The Windows fuel gauge IC hasn't yet read the new cell's EEPROM profile — it still expects data from the old battery. Nothing is faulty. Charge to 100% uninterrupted, then discharge fully to hibernate-cutoff, and repeat once more. After two cycles the fuel gauge IC maps the new cell correctly and the percentage reads accurately.
Why does the Satellite Pro C40-K stop charging at 80% with this replacement cell?
The C40-K BIOS includes a charge-limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce wear over long-term mains use. This is a firmware control, not a battery fault. Open Dynabook Settings or the pre-installed battery care utility, locate the charge mode setting, and switch it from "Eco Charge" or "Adaptive" to "Full Charge" — the cell will then charge to 100%.
The system info panel shows the wrong Wh rating for this replacement — is the battery actually the correct capacity?
The Wh figure shown in system info is pulled from a static value written into the battery's EEPROM at manufacture, and it can differ slightly from the actual cell chemistry rating. This cell is rated at 45.62Wh. If the displayed figure is close but not exact, that's an EEPROM label difference — not an underspec cell. Confirm the actual voltage reads 11.55V at full charge using the Battery Report tool (run `powercfg /batteryreport` in an admin command prompt) to verify real capacity against design capacity.
