Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dyson V10 Cyclone Series — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (969352-02)
This 25.2V 2500mAh (63Wh) lithium-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Dyson V10, Cyclone V10, and V10 Absolute cordless stick vacuums. It fits the SV12 platform and matches OEM part numbers 969352-02 and 206340. Capacity figure is from the product specification — not extrapolated from the original cell.
- V10 SV12 platform fit: All V10 variants — Absolute, Animal, Fluffy, and Total Clean — share the same SV12 motor board and battery connector. The BMS handshake protocol is identical across the range, so one cell covers the full series without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an SV12 unit through full charge and discharge cycles. The BMS reported accurate state-of-charge, the motor spun up cleanly across all three power modes, and no overcurrent faults were logged during sustained MAX mode operation.
- Dock charging habit on the V10: Do not leave the V10 sitting on the wall dock permanently. Continuous trickle charging compresses cell capacity faster than standard use does. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next clean.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The V10 motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked or the bin is full — the motor fights restriction rather than airflow. Under that elevated draw, cell voltage sags early and the BMS throttles output before the LED indicator registers a low state. The vacuum feels like it's losing charge when the real cause is mechanical restriction upstream of the motor. Clean the filter and empty the bin first — if suction recovers immediately, the battery was never the problem.
Motor cutting out mid-clean and recovering after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed battery. When sustained suction restriction forces the motor to draw beyond the cell's rated discharge threshold, the BMS opens the circuit to protect the cell — then resets once current demand drops. It happens most often on MAX mode with a partially blocked cyclone head or compressed filter. Clear the restriction, reset the vacuum by switching off and back on, and confirm resting cell voltage sits above 22V before resuming.

Frequently Asked Questions
My V10 suction feels weak right after charging — the battery shows full but performance is poor. Why?
A fully charged indicator doesn't rule out capacity fade in the existing cell. If the original battery has gone through hundreds of shallow charge cycles on the dock, usable capacity shrinks well below the rated 2500mAh even when the BMS reports full. Swap to the replacement cell and run a full discharge cycle before judging performance. If suction recovers, the old cell had degraded — not the vacuum head.
The V10 cuts out after a few seconds on MAX mode, then restarts fine. Is this the battery or the motor?
That's a BMS overcurrent trip — the cell shuts down to protect itself when sustained motor draw spikes past the discharge limit. It's most common when the filter hasn't been washed in several months, because restriction forces the motor to work harder and pull more current. Wash the filter, let it dry fully for 24 hours, then retest on MAX. If the cutout stops, the battery is fine — restricted airflow was the trigger.
I left my V10 on the wall dock for three months while I was away. Now runtime is noticeably shorter. Is that permanent?
Continuous dock charging keeps the cell in a high state of charge indefinitely, which stresses lithium-ion cells and compresses usable capacity over time. Whether it's permanent depends on how far the cell degraded — mild cases recover partially after a few full charge-discharge cycles off the dock. Run the vacuum to full depletion, charge completely off the dock, and repeat three cycles. If capacity doesn't recover to a usable level after that, the cell needs replacing.
