Fits Dyson V11, V11 Absolute Pro, V11 Absolute Extra, and other V11 variants; replaces OEM part number 299820.
25.2V, 4200mAh lithium-ion delivers full motor power on carpet and hard floors without voltage sag under load.
Battery slides onto the V11 handle slot with a single locking tab; connector aligns automatically when seat fully.
We cycled this cell on a V11 motor under sustained suction — BMS held steady until full depletion, no early cutoff.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously; trickle charging degrades capacity faster than charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dyson V11 Series — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (970145-02)

This is a 25.2V, 4200mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the Dyson V11 cordless vacuum range. It fits the V11, V11 Absolute Pro, V11 Absolute Extra, V11 Absolute, and over twelve additional V11 variants. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds charge or the vacuum shuts off mid-clean.

  • V11 platform compatibility: All V11 models share the same 25.2V battery rail, connector housing, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full range because Dyson standardised the battery interface across every V11 variant from launch.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a V11 Absolute and monitored BMS communication throughout the charge cycle. The battery completed a full charge without fault flags, and the LCD power indicator on the vacuum updated correctly at each stage.
  • Dock charging habit on the V11: Remove the vacuum from the charging dock once the battery reaches full. Leaving a V11 docked continuously feeds a low-level trickle current that accelerates cell degradation faster than regular use cycles do.

Motor cutting out under heavy carpet load on the V11

The V11's BMS monitors current draw in real time. On thick carpet or rugs, the motor pulls significantly more current than on hard floors — especially in Max or Boost mode. If the filter is partially blocked, airflow restriction forces the motor to work harder, spiking current draw past the BMS overcurrent threshold. The BMS trips, cuts power briefly, then resets — which users feel as a sudden stop-and-restart during cleaning.

Suction dropping well before the battery indicator shows low

This happens when cell voltage sags under load faster than the LCD indicator updates. A degraded or deeply discharged cell can sit at a resting voltage that reads as "charged" but collapses the moment the motor draws current. On the V11, voltage sag under load shows up as reduced suction power rather than a shutdown. If resting voltage reads above 22V but suction feels weak within the first few minutes of use, the cell is no longer holding its working voltage under load — replace it.

Frequently Asked Questions

My V11 keeps cutting out and restarting mid-clean — is that the battery or a blockage?

That stop-start pattern is almost always the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, not a failed cell. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw more current than the BMS allows, so it cuts power to protect the pack. Clean or replace the filter first, then run the vacuum again. If the cutout stops, the battery was never the problem — if it continues on a clean filter, the cell can no longer sustain the motor's current demand under load.

My V11 has been on the dock every day for months — could that be why the battery fades so fast?

Yes. Leaving a V11 docked continuously exposes the cells to a sustained low-level charge current even after they reach 100%. Lithium-ion cells degrade faster when held at full charge under trickle current than when cycled normally. Charge the replacement battery to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock until the next use. That single habit change measurably slows capacity fade over the replacement battery's life.

The replacement battery fully charges but suction feels weaker than expected from the first clean — what's wrong?

A partially blocked filter is the most common cause. When airflow is restricted, the V11's motor draws more current than rated to compensate, which causes voltage to sag under load and reduces effective suction. The battery itself delivers full voltage at rest, but the motor can't translate that into full suction if it's fighting a restriction. Wash the filter, let it dry fully for at least 24 hours, then retest — suction should return to the level the 4200mAh capacity can support.
