Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ECS G10L / i-Buddie G10IL1 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (G10-3S3600-S1A1)
This 11.1V, 4400mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the ECS G10L and i-Buddie G10IL1 notebooks. It matches OEM part numbers G10-3S3600-S1A1 and 63GG10028-5A SHL. Capacity is 48.84Wh — identical to the factory specification.
- G10L and G10IL1 platform fit: Both models share the same 11.1V three-cell rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, full discharge to cutoff, and a second full charge. The BMS reported correct capacity and accepted charge without interruption across all three stages.
- Post-install discharge cycle: After fitting this cell, run it down fully until the laptop hibernates at low-battery cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor after fitting a new cell
The BIOS reads health data from EEPROM values written during the previous cell's life. When a new cell goes in, those stored values no longer match the fresh chemistry, so the BIOS flags the battery as degraded. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After two to three cycles, the BIOS learn routine updates its baseline and the health warning clears.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
The fuel gauge IC calibrates its percentage readout against discharge curves stored from the old cell. On a new cell, those curves are mismatched, so the gauge calls 20–30% when the actual cell voltage is already near cutoff under load. The laptop shuts down because the cell cannot sustain the voltage rail when the CPU and display draw peaks together — not because of remaining capacity. Complete two full discharge-to-cutoff and charge-to-100% cycles. After recalibration, the fuel gauge tracks the new cell's voltage curve and shutdown moves back to the correct low-battery point near 5%.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ECS G10L shows the battery Wh rating as different from what it should be — is something wrong with the cell?
The Wh figure shown in system info is read from the EEPROM data the laptop carries over from the previous battery, not measured live from the new cell. The replacement cell is rated at 48.84Wh, but the OS will display whatever the old EEPROM entry logged until the learn cycle updates it. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles. After that, the BIOS rewrites its stored Wh value to match the new cell's actual chemistry.
The G10L's charge stopped at 80% and won't go higher — is the new battery faulty?
This is almost always a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a cell fault. Some ECS firmware enables a charge threshold to reduce cell stress, capping charge at 80% by default. Check the power management settings in the BIOS setup menu — look for a battery care or charge limit option and set it to 100%. If no such setting appears, a full power drain to hibernate and a single uninterrupted charge to 100% will confirm whether the limit is firmware-controlled or a genuine charge circuit issue.
The G10L's battery percentage jumps wildly — showing 60%, then 45%, then 70% within minutes of unplugging
The fuel gauge IC uses discharge curve data from the old cell to estimate remaining charge on the new one. Those curves don't match the fresh chemistry, so the percentage readout is erratic for the first few cycles. This is a calibration gap, not a defective cell. Discharge the laptop fully until it hibernates at low-battery cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — repeat this twice and the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's actual voltage profile.
