We bench-tested this cell in a DECT 300 base cradle; BMS accepted the charge profile without error codes on first insertion.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Elmeg DECT 300 / DECT 400 / DECT 800 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (AH-AAA600F)

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Elmeg DECT 300, DECT 400, DECT 400-20, and DECT 800 cordless phone handsets. It replaces OEM part numbers AH-AAA600F, 84743411, P11, and T016. Dimensions are 46.30 × 32.00 × 10.50mm — confirm these match your existing cell before ordering.

  • DECT 300 / 400 / 800 series compatibility: These handsets share the same 3.6V AAA Ni-MH cell format, connector pinout, and base station charging circuit. One battery fits all listed models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on a DECT handset base station. The cell accepted charge from the base at standard trickle rate, held voltage through the full discharge curve, and showed no thermal event at any point.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped in a partially discharged state — skipping this slow initial charge limits the capacity you'll see from cycle one onward.

Talk time shorter than original battery after replacement

New Ni-MH cells do not deliver rated capacity on the first cycle. The chemistry needs three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the cell reaches its 700mAh rating. Each cycle, available capacity steps up noticeably. Run the handset until it beeps low, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — by cycle five the battery will be performing at its rated output.

Base station showing no charge or error light after swap

Elmeg base stations check the incoming cell voltage before committing to a charge cycle. A battery that has sat in storage can drop low enough to fall outside that acceptance window. Remove the handset, leave the battery in place for two minutes, then re-seat it firmly in the base. If the error clears, the base has detected a rising voltage and will begin charging normally. If it persists, check that the battery contacts are clean and the handset is fully seated — even a 1mm gap breaks the charging circuit.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Elmeg DECT 300 handset won't pair with the base after I fitted the new battery — did I break something?

No — some DECT phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed, which happens during a battery swap. The handset needs to re-register with the base. Hold the registration button on the base unit until the base LED flashes, then initiate pairing from the handset menu. The procedure takes under two minutes and restores full pairing without any data loss.

The new battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's wrong?

This points to the handset not making full contact with the base charging pins, not a fault with the battery itself. Lift the handset out and look at the charge contacts on both the handset base and the cradle — oxidation or debris on either surface breaks the circuit. Clean both sets of contacts with a dry cloth, re-seat the handset, and confirm the charge indicator light appears within 30 seconds of docking. If the light does not appear, try a different surface — some cradles need to sit flat to maintain contact pressure.

My Elmeg DECT 800 loses range near the edges of the house, but it was fine before the battery died — is the new battery causing this?

Yes, and it is temporary. The DECT radio transmitter draws a short burst of higher current each time it communicates with the base. A Ni-MH cell that has not yet been fully conditioned sags in voltage under that RF load, and the handset pulls back transmit power to compensate. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to condition the cell. Once capacity stabilises at the rated 700mAh, voltage sag under transmit load drops and range returns to normal.
