Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Eltron 100 / 2100 / 2200 / 2205 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH 2000mAh Replacement Battery
This is a 2.4V Ni-MH battery rated at 2000mAh (4.8Wh) for the Eltron 100, 2100, 2200, and 2205 shavers, plus two additional models in the same series. It replaces the original rechargeable cell when the shaver stops holding a charge or cuts out before the low-battery indicator triggers.
- 100 / 2100 / 2200 / 2205 series fit: These models share the same 2.4V single-cell Ni-MH platform, identical physical footprint (49 × 29 × 14.5mm), and the same charge-management circuit inside the shaver body. One replacement covers the full series.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the shaver's own internal charging circuit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and voltage held steady through a full discharge curve before dropping at the expected cutoff threshold.
- Charging port care after rinsing: If you rinse the shaver head under water, let the housing air-dry for at least 30 minutes before placing it back on the charging dock. Moisture bridging the charging contacts can trip a BMS protection fault the shaver reports as a dead battery — not a charging error.
Capacity fade from daily partial charging on the Eltron shaver
Ni-MH cells in shavers degrade faster when charged daily from a shallow discharge. The charge circuit tops up from 70–80% rather than running a full cycle, and over time the cell develops a reduced effective capacity — the indicator still reads full, but the shaver cuts out earlier each week. This is not a fault the BMS reports; it shows up as progressively shorter use before speed drops. Replacing the cell and allowing it to fully discharge before the first recharge resets the cycle baseline.
Motor speed drops before the low-battery indicator reaches empty
Ni-MH cells exhibit voltage sag under the motor's rotational load before the BMS reaches its hard cutoff. The shaver motor draws a current spike during dense beard passes, pulling cell voltage below the level needed to maintain full speed — even though the indicator shows charge remaining. This is a cell condition issue, not a motor fault. A fresh cell at full charge holds voltage flat under the same load; if the replacement cell also sags early, check that the charging dock contacts are clean and making firm connection before concluding the cell is at fault.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Eltron shaver slows down halfway through a shave but the battery indicator still shows charge — what's happening?
This is voltage sag under motor load. The Ni-MH cell drops below the voltage the motor needs during heavier passes, even though the indicator hasn't reached the low-battery threshold yet. It's a sign the existing cell can no longer hold voltage flat under current draw — not a motor fault. Replace the cell and run it through a full discharge before the next charge to confirm the sag clears.
The shaver sat unused for two months and now won't charge at all — is the battery dead?
Ni-MH cells self-discharge significantly over weeks. After two months without use, the cell voltage can drop low enough that the shaver's charge circuit won't initiate a charge cycle — it reads the cell as a fault rather than just depleted. Place the shaver on the dock for at least 30 minutes to see if the circuit recovers; if no charge indicator activates by then, the cell has deep-discharged past recovery and needs replacement.
The charging dock contacts look corroded — could that cause the shaver to report a battery fault even if the cell is fine?
Yes. Cleaning product residue and tap water minerals build up on the dock pins and the shaver's charge contacts, increasing resistance enough that the charge circuit sees an open connection and flags it as a battery protection trip. Clean both sets of contacts with a dry cotton swab, then wipe with isopropyl alcohol and let them dry fully before reconnecting. If the fault clears after that, the cell itself was not the problem.
