Fits Emporia Select, V99, and Basic V26 phones; replaces OEM part AK-V99.
3.7V, 1200mAh capacity restores full runtime to aging or failed original cells.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot; locking tab seats flush with housing.
We bench-tested this pack on Select hardware; BMS accepted charge at 500mA without fault codes.
On first power-on after installation, let the phone discharge fully before recharging — the fuel gauge IC needs one complete cycle to recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve before it reports accurate percentage again.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Emporia Select / V99 / Basic V26 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (AK-V99)

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the original AK-V99 battery in the Emporia Select, V99, and Basic V26 mobile phones. It restores power to devices where the original cell has degraded, swollen, or failed to hold a charge. Capacity is 4.44Wh, matching the stock specification.

  • Select, V99, and Basic V26 compatibility: These three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The AK-V99 cell fits all three without modification — the 58.24 x 43.20 x 5.05mm footprint is consistent across the lineup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge-discharge cycles on a V99 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, charge current tapered correctly at 4.2V, and the protection circuit triggered cleanly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On the Emporia Select, the fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old cell. After fitting this replacement, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle from 100% to near-empty and back. This lets the IC recalibrate against the new cell's actual curve before resuming normal use.

Why the Emporia Select reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Select uses a fuel gauge IC that builds a discharge model based on the old cell's internal resistance and capacity curve. When a new cell goes in, that stored model no longer matches reality. The IC will report inflated percentages early in discharge and then drop sharply near the end. One full discharge-charge cycle — letting the phone run down to automatic shutdown and then charging uninterrupted to 100% — forces the coulomb counter to reset and relearn the new curve.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet recalibrated and the phone hits a voltage cliff under modem or screen load. The cell voltage drops below the shutdown threshold before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is not a faulty cell — it is a calibration gap. Run one full uninterrupted discharge cycle, then recharge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the reported percentage and actual cell voltage should track correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Emporia Select shuts off suddenly at around 25% battery — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the Select is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so the percentage reading and the actual cell voltage fall out of sync under load — the phone hits the low-voltage cutoff while the screen still shows 25%. Run one full cycle: let the phone discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That resets the coulomb counter against the new cell. After one complete cycle the shutdowns should stop.

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery arrived — it just shows a flat battery icon and does nothing.

If the cell sat in a warehouse below 2.5V per cell, the BMS locks out to prevent damage and the phone cannot boot normally. Plug the phone into the charger and leave it untouched for 20–30 minutes — the charge IC will trickle current into the cell below the BMS lockout threshold. Once cell voltage recovers above roughly 3.0V, the BMS releases and the phone will power on. If the icon does not change after 30 minutes, try a different charger cable and adapter to rule out a current delivery issue.

Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the AK-V99 — the phone charges slowly even on the original charger.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the Select may default to a reduced current rate while it verifies the new BMS handshake. This is normal behaviour and not a fault with the cell or the charger. Let the phone complete one full charge to 100% at the slower rate. On the second and subsequent charge cycles, normal charge current should resume. If slow charging persists beyond two full cycles, check that the charge port contacts are clean and seated correctly against the battery connector.
