Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ETA 1442 Verto — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1442 00090)
This 7.4V, 2500mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the original power pack in the ETA 1442 Verto cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It fits models using OEM part number 1442 00090. Voltage and cell count match the original so the BMS and charger behave as expected.
- ETA 1442 Verto compatibility: The 1442 Verto uses a 7.4V two-cell Li-ion configuration with a specific connector and BMS handshake. This battery matches that configuration — voltage rail, connector geometry, and communication protocol.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the 1442 Verto platform. The BMS responded correctly to the charger handshake, reached full charge without fault flags, and held voltage under simulated motor load without tripping overcurrent protection.
- Dock charging practice on the 1442 Verto: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock indefinitely after it reaches full charge. Continuous trickle charging accelerates capacity fade on Li-ion cells. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator shows low
The 1442 Verto motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter or clogged nozzle forces the motor to work harder at the same voltage. As the battery ages, its internal resistance rises, and voltage sags further under that elevated load. The result is noticeably weaker suction even though the indicator still shows charge remaining. Clean or replace the filter first, then test suction — if suction recovers, the battery was compensating for a restriction, not failing on its own.
Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. When the vacuum encounters sustained suction restriction — a blocked filter, dense carpet fibres, or a partial nozzle blockage — current draw spikes past the BMS threshold and the battery shuts output to protect the cells. Removing the restriction and waiting 30–60 seconds allows the BMS to reset and restore output. If the cutout happens repeatedly on a clean filter with a new battery, check that the nozzle and hose path are fully clear before ruling out a wiring fault in the vacuum itself.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the ETA 1442 Verto lose suction halfway through cleaning even though the battery still shows charge?
A degraded battery has higher internal resistance, so voltage sags under motor load before the indicator catches up — the indicator reads resting voltage, not load voltage. A partially blocked filter compounds this by forcing the motor to draw more current than rated, which worsens the sag. Start by cleaning the filter thoroughly and retesting. If suction improves, the filter was the primary cause; if not, the battery cell capacity has dropped below a usable level and replacement is the fix.
The replacement battery charges fine but the motor cuts out after a few seconds of use on thick carpet — what's happening?
Dense carpet creates high suction resistance, which spikes motor current during use. The BMS on the 1442 Verto battery monitors for sustained overcurrent and cuts output to protect the cells — this is correct behaviour, not a fault. Let the vacuum sit unpowered for 60 seconds so the BMS resets, then check that the filter and nozzle are fully clear before retrying. If cutouts continue on a clean filter at low motor load, verify the charger brought the cell to full charge — measure terminal voltage, which should read 8.4V at full charge before use.
The replacement battery isn't being recognised by the charger — the charge light won't come on at all. What should I check first?
The ETA 1442 Verto charger expects a BMS handshake signal from the battery before it begins charging. If the battery shipped in a deeply discharged state, the BMS may have entered a protection lockout that prevents the handshake. Connect the battery to the charger for 15–20 minutes without expecting an immediate indicator light — some chargers apply a low pre-charge current to recover a deeply discharged cell before switching to full charge mode. If no indicator activates after 20 minutes, check the connector contacts on both the battery and the dock for debris or misalignment, then reseat the battery firmly.
