Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ETA 1512 Fido / 1226 Felix — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1512 90000)
This is a 14.4V 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the ETA 1512 Fido and ETA 1226 Felix cordless vacuum cleaners. It fits the OEM part numbers 1512 90000 and 1226, restoring full motor power to units with depleted or failed original packs. Capacity is 2600mAh — matched to the original specification.
- 1512 Fido and 1226 Felix compatibility: Both models share the same 14.4V battery platform, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — so a single replacement cell covers the entire range. Voltage rail, physical dimensions (70.50 × 37.10 × 37.10mm), and pack orientation are identical across both platforms.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the 1512 Fido motor assembly. The BMS held stable voltage under sustained suction load and did not trip the overcurrent cutoff during normal carpet operation.
- Dock charging habit on the Fido: Do not leave the 1512 Fido sitting on its charging dock permanently. Continuous dock contact applies a low-level trickle charge after the pack reaches full, and Li-ion cells in this format degrade noticeably faster under that condition. Charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the 1512 Fido
This happens when the motor draws more current than the pack can deliver at full voltage — the pack voltage sags under load even though the indicator still reads mid-range. On the 1512 Fido, a partially blocked filter is the most common trigger: restricted airflow forces the motor to work harder, pulling current spikes the BMS registers as a load event. The indicator reads pack state-of-charge, not real-time motor voltage, so those two readings diverge. Check and clean the filter first, then retest — a clear filter drops motor draw back within the pack's rated output window.
Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When sustained suction blockage or a clogged filter causes the motor to exceed the pack's current threshold, the BMS shuts the output rail to protect the cells — usually for 3 to 5 seconds before resetting automatically. Clearing the blockage or filter restriction is the fix; the trip will keep recurring as long as the restriction remains. If the motor cuts out even on an unblocked, clean surface, check that pack voltage reads at least 14.0V under light load with a multimeter before concluding the battery is at fault.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ETA 1512 Fido loses suction noticeably before the battery light even starts flashing — is the new battery the problem?
Not likely the battery. On the 1512 Fido, suction drops early when the filter is partially blocked — restricted airflow makes the motor pull more current than the pack is rated to deliver at full output, causing voltage sag under load. The battery indicator tracks state-of-charge, not real-time motor voltage, so those two diverge. Clean the filter first; if suction holds through the full charge cycle after that, the battery is fine.
The motor on my 1226 Felix keeps cutting out for a few seconds then comes back on — will a new battery fix this?
This is the BMS tripping on an overcurrent event, not a failing battery. When airflow is restricted — blocked nozzle, saturated filter, or jammed roller — the motor draws beyond the pack's current limit and the BMS cuts the output rail for a few seconds to protect the cells. A new battery will behave identically if the restriction stays in place. Clear the filter and nozzle first; if the cutout continues on a clean surface, check pack voltage under light load — it should hold above 14.0V.
I left my ETA 1512 Fido on the charging dock between every use and now the battery barely holds charge — is the replacement cell going to have the same issue?
Yes, if you keep the same habit. Li-ion cells in the 1512 Fido format degrade faster under continuous dock contact because the charger applies a low-level charge to maintain 100% after the pack is full — that sustained elevated state accelerates capacity fade. The replacement pack will perform correctly if you charge it to full and remove it from the dock rather than leaving it docked permanently. Charge only when the pack is depleted or near-depleted, then disconnect.
