Fits Eureka 4238AZ cordless stick vacuum; replaces OEM battery 4238AZ.
14.4V and 3400mAh capacity deliver full motor torque on carpet and bare floor cleaning cycles.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a positive lock tab — no force required.
We ran full discharge cycles on a bench test rig; BMS held steady voltage throughout, no early cutoff observed.
Do not leave this cell on the charging dock when fully charged — continuous trickle charge degrades capacity significantly faster than charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Eureka 4238AZ — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V, 3400mAh lithium-ion battery for the Eureka 4238AZ cordless stick vacuum. It replaces the original cell when the vacuum no longer holds a charge or shuts off early during use. Voltage and capacity match the stock specification exactly.

  • 4238AZ platform fit: The 4238AZ runs a 14.4V motor rail with a specific connector and BMS communication protocol. This battery matches that rail. Swapping a mismatched voltage pack — even slightly higher — can trigger the vacuum's protection circuit and prevent startup.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through repeated motor-start cycles and sustained suction loads. The BMS handled current spikes at startup without tripping and held stable voltage through the discharge curve.
  • Dock charging discipline: Do not leave the 4238AZ sitting on the charging dock continuously. Cordless vacuums kept on permanent dock charge develop capacity fade faster than those charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

A partially blocked filter forces the 4238AZ motor to draw more current than its rated load. The BMS reads that elevated draw as a near-depleted cell and reduces output voltage to protect the pack. Suction falls off noticeably even though the indicator still shows charge. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers and the indicator stays stable, the battery is not the fault.

Motor cuts out mid-use then restarts after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. Sustained restricted airflow — from a blocked filter or full dustbin — pushes motor current above the BMS threshold. The circuit opens, the motor stops, and after the cell temperature drops briefly, the BMS resets and allows restart. Clear the blockage and empty the dustbin before assuming the battery is faulty. If the trip still occurs on an unrestricted machine, measure pack voltage at rest — a healthy cell should read between 15.8V and 16.8V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Eureka 4238AZ has noticeably weaker suction than it used to, even with a fresh charge — what's causing it?

A worn cell can no longer hold voltage steady under motor load, so output sags mid-clean even when the indicator reads full. We saw this on bench — a degraded pack drops below 12V under sustained suction load, which is when the motor loses meaningful airflow. Before replacing the battery, rule out a blocked filter, since restriction causes the same symptom. If the filter is clear and the vacuum still underperforms, the battery is the likely cause.

The vacuum stopped charging after I fitted the replacement battery — charger light won't come on at all.

Some Eureka chargers handshake with the BMS before initiating charge — if the BMS is in a deep-discharge protection state, the charger sees no valid response and stays off. Leave the battery connected to the charger for 30 minutes without interruption; some BMS units will recover from the trickle signal and re-enable the charge path. If the charger light still does not activate, measure the pack voltage with a multimeter — a reading below 9V indicates the cell has crossed the BMS hard-cutoff threshold and will not recover through normal charging.

I've had the new battery a few months and it's already lasting noticeably less time per clean — is this normal?

Capacity fade this fast usually points to dock charging habits, not a defective cell. Leaving the 4238AZ on the charging dock after it reaches full charge exposes the lithium cells to continuous trickle current, which degrades capacity faster than normal charge cycles. Remove the vacuum from the dock once charging is complete. If you correct the charging habit now, the remaining capacity stabilises — lithium fade from trickle overcharge does not reverse, but it stops accelerating once the overcharge stops.
