Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fukuda FX-7302 / CardiMax FCP-7101 — 9.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (8PHR)
This 9.6V, 4000mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original pack in the Fukuda FX-7302, Cardimax FX-7302, CardiMax FCP-7101, and FX-7402 electrocardiograph units. These are portable ECG machines used in clinical wards, cardiac departments, and ambulances. It matches the OEM voltage rail and connector pinout for these models.
- FX-7302 and FCP-7101 compatibility: Both units share the same 9.6V battery bay, connector latch, and BMS handshake protocol. The 8PHR and T8HR4/3FAUC-5345 part numbers cover all four listed Fukuda ECG models without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the FX-7302 platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion and completed the onboard verification sequence without fault codes.
- Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, let the device complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting the boot sequence. The FX-7302 runs a BMS verification pass at startup — cutting power mid-cycle triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next complete reboot.
Why the FX-7302 flags a battery fault after a confirmed full charge
The FX-7302 BMS stores a capacity baseline from the previous cell. A new Ni-MH pack reads differently on the first few cycles because the cells haven't reached full electrochemical conditioning. The device compares current charge acceptance against that stored baseline and raises a fault if the figures don't align. Running one complete charge-discharge cycle resets the learned threshold and clears the fault on subsequent boots.
ECG unit powers on but shuts off unexpectedly during patient recording
During the first ten cycles, a new Ni-MH cell delivers slightly lower sustained voltage under the ECG's active recording load. The FX-7302 power management circuit has a tight low-voltage cutoff — it protects the acquisition hardware by shutting down before voltage drops affect signal integrity. This is not a faulty battery. Capacity stabilises after several full cycles, and the cutoff trips less frequently as the cell conditions. Confirm the battery has reached at least 9.0V under load before marking the unit unserviceable.

Frequently Asked Questions
The FX-7302 is alarming low battery right after I took it off a full charge — is the new battery bad?
The battery is almost certainly fine. The FX-7302 BMS compares charge acceptance data against a profile built from the old cell, and a new Ni-MH pack won't match that profile until it's been cycled. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle through the device before drawing any conclusions. After that cycle, the alarm threshold recalibrates and the false low-battery flag clears.
The ECG won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in the box for a few months — what happened?
Ni-MH cells self-discharge in storage, and if voltage drops below the FX-7302's BMS recovery threshold, the device won't initiate the boot sequence. Connect the unit to mains power and leave it on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle — typically until the charge indicator shows complete. Once voltage recovers above the BMS floor (approximately 9.0V), the unit will power on normally.
The charge indicator on the FX-7302 won't reach 100% on the first charge with the new battery — should I keep charging it?
This is normal behaviour on the first charge. The FX-7302 charge IC applies a conservative acceptance limit when it detects a new or deeply discharged Ni-MH cell, which causes the indicator to stall short of full. Let the charge cycle complete fully without interruption, then discharge the unit through normal operation and charge again. By the second or third cycle, the charge IC accepts the full cell capacity and the indicator reads correctly.
