Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly over months. If the R800Easy battery dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell during winter storage, the charger's input detection circuit may reject the pack and show a fault or no-charge indicator. Place the battery in a warm room (above 15°C) for two hours first. Then connect the charger — some units will recover the pack with a slow pre-charge pulse once cell temperature rises and voltage is no longer at the hard floor.

The mower recovers once temperature drops, usually within 3–5 minutes. If it happens repeatedly in the same session, reduce row overlap and clear any clipping buildup under the deck that restricts airflow around the battery bay.
The battery feels noticeably warmer than my old one after the first few charges — is that normal?
New Li-ion cells run slightly warmer during the first charge cycles because the cell chemistry hasn't yet settled into its stable charge-discharge pattern. We measured elevated surface temperatures on this pack for the first 4–5 full cycles before it stabilised. This is normal conditioning behaviour, not a fault. If the pack is still running hot after 6 cycles, check that the battery bay vents on the mower aren't blocked with grass debris.
The R800Easy blade motor sounds slower on cold mornings even with a full charge — why?
Below 10°C, Li-ion cells lose available capacity and their internal resistance rises. The blade motor receives less usable current from the pack, which shows up as reduced cutting speed or torque on the first few minutes of use. This is a chemistry limitation, not a defect. Bring the battery indoors the night before an early spring mow — a pack at 18°C will deliver full rated current from the first blade engagement.
