Fits Gionee E3 and E3T phones; replaces OEM part number BL-C008A.
3.7V, 1600mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the same capacity as the factory pack.
Connector and contact orientation match the E3 battery slot without modification required.
We bench-tested this cell in the E3 charge cradle; the BMS accepted the pack and cycled charge current normally with no early cutoff.
On first use after installation, complete one full discharge-charge cycle before activating fast charging — this allows the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GIONEE E3 / E3T — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-C008A)

This is a 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-ion battery replacing the BL-C008A cell in the GIONEE E3 and E3T smartphones. It fits the original battery bay without modification. Voltage and capacity match the factory specification exactly.

  • E3 and E3T compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol. The BL-C008A footprint — 73.17 × 58.00 × 3.96 mm — is identical across both variants, so one cell covers either device.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on E3 hardware. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated register.

Why the E3 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The GIONEE E3 uses a fuel gauge IC that stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC is still reading against the old curve. The result is percentage jumps, phantom full charges, or a bar that barely moves for hours then drops fast. One complete discharge-charge cycle — draining below 5% and charging uninterrupted to 100% — forces the IC to rewrite its calibration registers against the new cell's actual chemistry.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff, not a capacity problem. Under peak load — modem handoff, screen at full brightness, background sync — the cell voltage drops sharply in that 20–30% window. The BMS reads the sag as a low-voltage event and cuts output before the percentage gauge has time to update. If shutdowns are repeatable at the same percentage, run one full calibration cycle first. If they continue after calibration, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partially engaged connector raises contact resistance and worsens voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

The E3 powers off at around 25% even though the new battery just arrived — is the cell faulty?

Almost always no. The fuel gauge IC on the E3 is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the voltage cliff on the new cell and triggers a shutdown before the percentage catches up. Run one full cycle — drain past 5% with the screen on, then charge straight to 100% without interruption. That forces the IC to rewrite its calibration registers. If shutdowns persist after one full cycle, reseat the battery connector and repeat.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after swapping the battery — what happened?

The E3's charge IC runs a handshake with the BMS on the first connection after a new cell is installed. If the BMS doesn't respond within the expected window — sometimes caused by a cell that arrived at low voltage from storage — the IC falls back to standard 5V charging and does not re-negotiate the faster protocol automatically. Charge the phone normally to 100% on that first cycle. On the next charge, fast charging typically resumes once the BMS has completed its initialisation sequence.

The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery slot while charging the new cell — is that normal?

Yes, for the first one or two cycles. A new high-impedance Li-ion cell generates more heat during charge than a broken-in cell because the charge IC is pushing current into a cell that has not yet settled to its steady-state internal resistance. The warmth should reduce after two full charge cycles. If the phone stays hot throughout a charge after the third cycle, or if charging stops before 100%, check that the replacement cell's voltage at rest is above 3.6V before the next charge attempt.
