Fits Gorenje MVC148FW and Free Go MVC148FW cordless vacuums; replaces OEM part 590982.
14.8V 2600mAh lithium-ion delivers full motor power for dust and debris collection cycles.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a locking tab that seats flush.
We bench-tested the BMS under sustained motor load; no cutoff observed until full discharge.
Do not leave this cell on the charging dock continuously — cordless vacuum chargers trickle-charge when full, causing capacity fade over weeks; charge to full and remove from dock immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gorenje MVC148FW / Free Go MVC148FW — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (590982)

This is a 14.8V 2600mAh (38.48Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Gorenje MVC148FW and Free Go MVC148FW cordless handheld vacuums. It replaces OEM part number 590982 directly. Fit it when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge or fails to power on the motor at all.

  • MVC148FW and Free Go MVC148FW compatibility: Both models run the same 14.8V cell architecture with the same connector and BMS handshake. The 590982 part number covers the full platform — one battery fits both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge-discharge runs on the MVC148FW platform. The BMS handled motor-start current draw without tripping, and charge termination cut in cleanly at 16.8V across multiple cycles.
  • Dock charging habit on the MVC148FW: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Cordless vacs on continuous dock charge develop capacity fade faster than those charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

On the MVC148FW, suction can fall noticeably while the battery indicator still shows two or three bars. This happens because a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes the cell voltage to sag under load — even though the resting voltage looks fine. The BMS reads voltage under load, not resting voltage, so it throttles motor power early to protect the cell. Clear the filter first and check whether suction recovers before assuming the battery is at fault.

Motor cuts out mid-clean then restarts after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. It happens when restricted airflow — usually a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — forces sustained high current draw past the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts the circuit to protect the cells, then resets once current demand drops. To stop it recurring, remove, tap out, and rinse the filter, then confirm the nozzle path is clear before restarting the vacuum.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Gorenje MVC148FW lose suction well before the battery light shows it's low?

A restricted filter is the most common cause. When airflow is blocked, the motor pulls more current than rated, which drags cell voltage down under load even though the resting charge looks healthy. The BMS interprets that voltage sag as a depleted cell and reduces power to the motor early. Remove and clean the filter, then retest — if suction improves, the battery is not the problem.

The motor on my MVC148FW keeps cutting out for a few seconds then coming back on — is the battery failing?

That behaviour is a BMS overcurrent trip, not cell failure. Sustained restricted suction — from a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — pushes current above the BMS protection threshold, which cuts the circuit temporarily. Once current demand drops, the BMS resets and the motor restarts. Clear the filter and nozzle path completely, then run the vacuum again to confirm the trips stop.

My replacement 590982 battery is fading faster than expected after a few months — what's causing that?

Continuous dock charging is the most likely cause. Leaving the MVC148FW on its charging dock indefinitely exposes the Li-ion cells to trickle charge stress, which degrades capacity faster than normal use cycles. Li-ion cells hold best when charged to full and then removed from the charger rather than kept at float voltage. Charge only when the battery is depleted, remove from the dock once the indicator shows full, and store the vacuum off-dock between uses.
