Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gude Rasenmaher 370/36 — 36V Li-ion Replacement Battery (95526)
This 36V 3000mAh (108Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack on the Gude Rasenmaher 370/36, Rasenmaher 430/36, Kettensage 300/36, and Freischneider cordless tools. All four models share the same 36V platform and connector format, making this a single-pack solution across the range. Capacity figures are taken directly from the product specification — 3000mAh, 108Wh.
- 36V platform compatibility — 370/36, 430/36, Kettensage 300/36, Freischneider: These models all run the same 36V voltage rail and use an identical battery interface with matching connector geometry and BMS communication lines. Swapping between tools in this range requires no adapters.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through motor-start inrush loads typical of the 370/36 blade motor. The BMS held trip thresholds without nuisance cutoffs during cold-start draws, and cell balancing completed correctly at end of charge.
- Motor inrush break-in — first two cycles: Run the mower at half-throttle for the first two full cycles before tackling dense or wet grass at full blade speed. This lets the BMS log the motor's inrush current signature and calibrate its overcurrent threshold before maximum-load cuts.
BMS cutoff on blade motor start surge in the Rasenmaher 370/36
The 370/36 blade motor pulls a sharp inrush spike the moment the deck engages — often two to three times the steady-state running current. A freshly installed or storage-discharged pack has an elevated internal resistance, which amplifies the voltage sag at that spike. If the sag crosses the BMS undervoltage threshold, the pack cuts out immediately on engagement. Letting the pack complete one full charge cycle before the first heavy-grass cut reduces internal resistance and lowers the sag magnitude at motor start.
Charger shows no response or blinking red on a new or stored pack
After extended storage, cell voltage can drop below 30V — the acceptance floor for most 36V Gude chargers. When the charger sees a pack below that threshold it either blinks red or shows no activity at all, treating the pack as a fault condition rather than a dischargeable cell. The fix is a trickle pre-charge: place the pack on charge, wait 10–15 minutes, then remove and reinsert it — this nudges the cell voltage above the acceptance threshold so the charger enters normal CC/CV mode. If the charger still rejects the pack after two insertion cycles, check that resting cell voltage is above 32V before proceeding.

Frequently Asked Questions
The mower cuts out the instant I engage the blade — battery seems fine otherwise. What's happening?
That's a BMS overcurrent trip, not a weak battery. The blade motor pulls a large inrush current spike at engagement, and if the pack's internal resistance is elevated — from storage or a partial state of charge — the resulting voltage sag trips the BMS protection circuit before the blade reaches speed. Charge the pack fully before the next attempt and engage the blade with the deck unloaded first. A resting voltage above 36.5V before engagement confirms the pack is not the fault.
The mower bogs down and loses power halfway through a heavy cutting run — then recovers after a short pause. Is this a battery fault?
This is thermal cutoff, not a capacity problem. Sustained motor load generates heat in both the motor windings and the battery cells, and when cell temperature exceeds the BMS thermal threshold the pack reduces current output to protect itself. The recovery you see after a pause is the cells cooling back below that threshold. Avoid cutting dense or wet grass in continuous passes without short breaks between rows — alternating direction and pausing every few minutes keeps cell temperature within the BMS operating window.
Battery percentage drops fast in cold weather even though it was fully charged overnight. Is the pack faulty?
No — this is normal Li-ion behaviour below 5°C. Cold temperatures raise the internal resistance of lithium cells significantly, which increases voltage sag under load and causes the BMS to read a lower state of charge than the actual cell capacity. The capacity returns once the pack warms up during use or when stored at room temperature. Before cutting in cold conditions, bring the pack indoors for at least 30 minutes and confirm resting voltage is at or above 40V before inserting it into the tool.
