Fits Hetronic NOVA XXL crane remote control; replaces OEM part numbers 68303600, 68108870, 68108875, and 68108880.
3.7V 7800mAh Li-ion cell delivers 28.86Wh to power solenoid activation and wireless signal transmission on overhead crane systems.
Connector seats flush into the NOVA XXL battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab secures the cell against vibration during hoist operation.
We bench-tested this cell in a NOVA XXL test harness; the BMS accepted the initial handshake and held voltage stable under repeated solenoid firing cycles.
For crane remotes left idle between jobs, charge this cell once monthly — deep discharge below 2.5V triggers BMS lockout that may prevent recovery.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hetronic NOVA XXL — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (68303600)

This 3.7V 7800mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Hetronic NOVA XXL wireless crane remote control. It fits directly against OEM part numbers 68303600, 68108870, 68108875, and 68108880. The NOVA XXL is used to operate overhead cranes and hoists in manufacturing plants, warehouses, and construction sites.

  • NOVA XXL platform fit: The four OEM part numbers listed above cover successive production batches of the NOVA XXL remote — same 3.7V rail, same connector pinout, same BMS handshake protocol across all variants. One cell covers the full range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a NOVA XXL unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, solenoid activation drew current normally, and the remote held its radio link throughout load events without voltage dropout.
  • Idle-period charge schedule: If the remote sits unused for weeks at a time — common on job sites between crane contracts — charge the battery once a month. Li-ion cells discharged below 2.5V per cell enter a BMS lockout state that a standard charger cannot reverse.

Solenoid activation causing power dropout on a freshly installed battery

When the NOVA XXL triggers a solenoid or relay command, the inrush current spike can momentarily drag cell voltage below the BMS low-voltage cutoff threshold. A cell at storage voltage — around 3.6V — has less headroom to absorb that spike than a fully charged cell sitting at 4.1–4.2V. The BMS then cuts power to protect the cell, and the remote shuts off mid-operation. Charge the battery fully before putting it back into active crane service — a full charge gives the cell the voltage buffer it needs to ride through inrush events without tripping the cutoff.

Remote showing low-battery warning immediately after cell swap

Replacement cells ship at storage voltage — typically 3.6V — not at full charge. The NOVA XXL firmware reads cell voltage on startup and flags anything below its low-battery threshold, which sits above storage voltage on most firmware versions. This is not a fault with the new cell. Connect the remote to its charger and bring the battery to a full 4.2V before use. The low-battery indicator will clear once the charge cycle completes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The crane remote hasn't been used for three months and now won't power on at all — is the battery dead?

Most likely the cell discharged below 2.5V during storage and the BMS has entered deep-discharge lockout. The remote won't respond because the BMS is blocking output to protect the cell. Connect the charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes — some chargers can recover a deeply discharged Li-ion cell by applying a low preconditioning current before switching to normal charge mode. If the charge indicator never activates after 30 minutes, the cell has passed the recovery threshold and needs replacement.

The remote cuts out the moment an operator activates the hoist — it was fine yesterday with the old battery.

This is a BMS inrush trip. The hoist solenoid draws a sharp current spike on activation, and if the replacement cell was installed at storage voltage rather than full charge, the BMS cuts power the instant cell voltage sags below its cutoff point under that load. Charge the battery fully — to 4.2V — before returning the remote to service. A fully charged cell has enough voltage headroom to sustain the inrush spike without triggering the cutoff.

Why does the E-stop on the NOVA XXL feel sluggish to respond when the battery is low?

The NOVA XXL's radio transmission power and microcontroller response speed are both voltage-dependent — at low cell voltage the transmit signal weakens and command processing slows slightly. In a safety-critical application like crane operation, that delay is not acceptable. Always confirm the battery is at full charge before a lifting session begins. If the low-battery indicator is lit during operation, remove the remote from service and charge it before continuing.
