Fits HP OmniBook XE2 series; replaces OEM part numbers 4UR18650-2-7, F1753-60978, F1739A, F1739B.
14.8V, 4400mAh (65.12Wh) lithium-ion restores full charge cycles to aging notebooks.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot; locking tab secures pack flush against chassis.
We bench-tested this cell in an XE2-DC-F2055WT; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and charged to 100% without thermal throttling.
After installation, discharge the notebook completely to hibernation-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP OmniBook XE2 Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (4UR18650-2-7)

This is a 14.8V, 4400mAh (65.12Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the HP OmniBook XE2 series, including the XE2-DC-F2055WT, XE2-DC-F2070W, XE2-DE-F1674WT, XE2-DB-F1750WR, and over 250 additional XE2 variants. It replaces OEM part numbers 4UR18650-2-7, F1753-60978, F1739A, and F1739B. Cell voltage and connector pinout match the original HP spec.

  • XE2 series platform fit: All XE2 variants in this family share the same 14.8V four-cell Li-ion configuration, physical connector, and BMS handshake protocol. That common architecture is why a single part number covers the full XE2 lineup across DC, DE, and DB sub-models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an XE2-series board. The BMS handshake completed cleanly, charge acceptance stepped correctly through CC and CV phases, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage cutoff without a hard fault.
  • Post-install calibration for the OmniBook XE2: After fitting this battery, run a full discharge to the hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the false "poor health" warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell

The OmniBook XE2 BIOS reads health data from EEPROM values stored by the old battery's fuel gauge IC. When a new cell is installed, that EEPROM data is absent or mismatched, so the BIOS flags the battery as degraded before it has run a single cycle. This is a calibration state, not a fault. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle, the BIOS learn routine re-maps capacity against the new cell and the health warning clears.

Laptop shutting down abruptly while the fuel gauge still shows 20–30%

This happens when aged cells hit a steep voltage cliff under combined CPU and display load — the cell voltage collapses faster than the fuel gauge IC can track. The fuel gauge was calibrated against the old cell's discharge curve, so the percentage shown no longer reflects actual remaining charge. After two or three full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted-charge cycles with the new battery, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates its curve against the new cell chemistry. If the shutdowns persist after three cycles, check that the BIOS is reading 14.8V nominal at the battery connector.

Frequently Asked Questions

The OmniBook XE2 shows a completely different Wh rating in system info after I swapped the battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The Wh figure in HP's system information screen comes from the EEPROM data the fuel gauge IC writes during its first calibration cycle, and that value can differ from the OEM rating printed on the old pack. This replacement is rated at 65.12Wh. After one full discharge-to-hibernate and a complete uninterrupted charge, the fuel gauge IC writes updated EEPROM data and the displayed Wh figure will settle to a stable reading.

Why does the charge on my OmniBook XE2 stop at 80% and refuse to go higher?

Some HP BIOS versions include a battery charge limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress over time. This is a firmware control, not a fault with the replacement cell. Go into the BIOS setup (F2 or F10 at boot on this platform), find the Battery Charge Mode or similar power setting, and switch it from "Optimised" or "Long Life" to "Full Charge." Save and reboot, then charge again — the battery will accept charge to 100%.

My OmniBook XE2 fuel gauge is jumping around wildly — it reads 60%, then 90%, then 45% within minutes of normal use.

The fuel gauge IC uses a learned discharge curve built from previous charge and discharge history. With a new cell installed, that learned curve no longer matches the actual chemistry, so capacity estimates swing unpredictably. The IC needs two to three full calibration cycles to build an accurate model against the new cell. Run a full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption — repeat this twice more and the gauge readings will stabilise.
