This is a 7.7V 4750mAh (36.58Wh) Li-Polymer replacement battery for the HP Spectre 13-V000 ultrabook series. It fits the Spectre 13-V000, 13-V000NA, 13-V000NG, and F1D61EA#ABD among over 200 confirmed models. OEM part numbers include SO04XL, HSTNN-IB7J, 843534-121, and TPN-C127.

Spectre 13-V000 series fit: These models share the same 7.7V power rail, identical connector pinout, and a common BMS handshake protocol. Any variant in the V000 lineup pulling the SO04XL OEM number will accept this cell without modification.
Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a Spectre 13-V000 unit. The BMS initialised within two minutes of first connection, charge current stepped down correctly at 95%, and the protection circuit responded to over-current within spec.

Why the Spectre 13 BIOS reports poor health immediately after a battery swap

The Spectre 13 reads battery health from EEPROM data stored on the cell's BMS board. A new cell ships with factory EEPROM values that don't match the usage history the BIOS expects. The system flags this mismatch as degraded or unknown health, even when the cell is brand new. Running the full discharge-to-hibernate then uninterrupted charge cycle prompts the BIOS to rewrite its learned baseline against the new cell's actual characteristics.

Spectre 13 shuts down at 20–30% remaining after battery replacement

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't calibrated against the new cell's voltage curve. The old calibration data maps the cutoff voltage incorrectly, so the system hits what it thinks is empty while the cell still has charge. Under combined CPU and display load, voltage sag accelerates the shutdown point further. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles and confirm the BIOS fuel gauge stabilises — the shutdown threshold should settle back to 5% or below.
