Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Incom ICW-1000G — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (KAL523450AR)
This 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell replaces the KAL523450AR battery in the Incom ICW-1000G cordless VoIP phone. It restores the phone's ability to operate untethered and to maintain backup power during outages. Voltage and physical dimensions match the original: 53.26 x 34.10 x 6.10mm.
- ICW-1000G platform fit: The ICW-1000G uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack with a specific connector orientation and BMS handshake tied to the phone's charge management circuit. This cell matches that connector and voltage rail so the phone's firmware recognises the battery correctly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the ICW-1000G charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the pack without fault flags. Charge termination triggered cleanly at 4.2V with no overcharge events observed.
- First-use backup activation: After fitting this battery, power cycle the phone and leave it on charge for a full four hours before testing backup function. The ICW-1000G firmware will not route power through the backup circuit until the cell has completed at least one full charge cycle from the mains adapter.
Why the ICW-1000G drops its settings when mains power cuts
The ICW-1000G stores active call settings and network configuration in volatile memory backed by the battery. If the replacement cell ships below 3.5V from storage, the phone's backup circuit sees it as insufficient and bypasses it entirely during a power cut. This means settings revert to defaults even though a battery is physically present. Charge the phone to 4.2V before any outage test — the backup circuit will not activate below that threshold.
Phone shows low battery warning immediately after new cell is installed
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage and shipping, so the KAL523450AR replacement may arrive at 3.3–3.6V — below the ICW-1000G's low-battery threshold of roughly 3.7V. The phone reads that resting voltage and immediately flags a low-battery warning, even with a brand-new cell installed. This is not a fault with the battery. Place the phone on its charger and allow a full charge cycle; the warning will clear once the cell reaches 3.9V or above.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ICW-1000G replaced its battery but the phone still loses its network settings every time the power goes out — what's wrong?
The backup circuit in the ICW-1000G won't engage until the new cell has completed a full charge cycle. A freshly installed battery that hasn't reached 4.2V is bypassed by the firmware, so the phone drops to defaults on every outage as if no battery were present. Put the phone on charge for four hours straight before testing backup function. After that first full cycle, the firmware accepts the cell and settings will persist through outages.
The ICW-1000G screen shows a battery health error after I swapped the cell — is the new battery bad?
That error usually means the phone's battery-check handshake hasn't completed yet, not that the cell is faulty. The ICW-1000G firmware runs a brief verification routine after a new pack is detected, and if the phone was restarted before the cell reached a stable resting voltage, the routine returns an error. Leave the phone powered on and charging for at least two hours, then reboot it once from the mains. The health indicator should clear once the firmware completes its check against a fully settled cell voltage.
I tested the backup function by unplugging the ICW-1000G and it shut off instantly — the battery didn't kick in at all. What do I check?
The backup circuit requires the cell to be at or above roughly 3.9V before the phone will draw from it during an outage. If the phone was unplugged before a full charge completed, the circuit sees insufficient capacity and cuts off rather than risk an undervoltage event on the VoIP chipset. Reconnect to mains, allow a full four-hour charge, then confirm the charge indicator shows complete before testing again. If the phone still shuts off immediately after a confirmed full charge, reseat the battery connector to rule out a contact fault.
