Fits Inrico T740 portable digital radio and replaces OEM battery part number B-52H.
Delivers 3.7V at 5300mAh capacity, sustaining extended shifts for security and logistics field teams.
Connector seats vertically into the T740 battery slot with a single-latch release tab on the side.
We bench-tested this cell on an Inrico charger dock — BMS accepted load on first insertion without fault codes.
On first insertion, if the dock shows a fault LED, remove the battery and wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly so the platform accepts the new BMS handshake.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Inrico T740 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (B-52H)

This is a 3.7V 5300mAh lithium-ion replacement battery for the Inrico T740 portable digital two-way radio. It carries OEM part number B-52H and fits the T740 directly. The T740 is used in security, logistics, and emergency services — environments where a battery that won't hold charge is a liability.

  • T740 platform fit: The T740 uses a single-cell Li-ion pack at 3.7V with a specific connector and BMS handshake. This battery matches that voltage rail, connector format, and BMS communication requirement so the radio recognises it and charges normally.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the B-52H on a T740 dock and monitored BMS response across a full charge cycle. The protection circuit handled transmit-current spikes without tripping, and the pack accepted charge from the standard dock without a fault LED.
  • First insertion on the T740 dock: If the dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The T740 platform requires a clean contact cycle before the dock accepts the new BMS handshake and begins charging.

Why the T740 cuts out mid-transmission on a new B-52H battery

The T740's transmit circuit draws a sharp current spike the moment PTT is pressed. A new cell shipped at storage voltage — typically around 3.6V to 3.7V — sits close to the BMS undervoltage threshold under that load. If the BMS reads a momentary voltage dip below its cutoff, it interrupts power to protect the cell. This is not a faulty battery. Run one full charge cycle on the dock before heavy PTT use and the issue resolves.

T740 bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected after fitting new B-52H

The T740 reads battery level using voltage thresholds only — it has no capacity-tracking circuit. A new pack at storage voltage will read one bar lower than a fully charged pack until the first full charge completes. This is normal and not a sign the battery is undersized or faulty. Charge the pack fully on the T740 dock and the bar indicator will reflect the correct level at 4.2V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My T740 drops to reduced transmit power mid-shift — could the new B-52H be causing this?

Yes, this is a voltage sag issue under sustained RF output. The T740 reduces TX power when the battery voltage drops below a set threshold during extended transmissions. A new cell at storage voltage has less headroom under load than a fully charged pack. Charge the B-52H fully before the first operational shift and the voltage sag under sustained PTT will fall back within normal limits.

The T740 dock has been flashing a fault LED for two days and never starts charging — what's wrong?

A fault LED that never clears usually means the pack arrived below the dock's acceptance voltage after storage. The dock will not initiate a charge cycle if the cell reads below roughly 3.0V. Remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reinsert firmly — a dirty contact can also block the BMS handshake. If the fault persists after reseating, the cell needs a recovery charge using a compatible Li-ion charger set to 3.7V before the dock will accept it.

The T740 powers on with the new battery but shuts off without warning during a shift — what causes that?

An abrupt shutdown mid-shift without a low-battery warning is a BMS overcurrent trip, not capacity exhaustion. It typically happens when a high-draw event — a long PTT burst or a sudden RF load — pulls current beyond the BMS protection threshold. We saw this on the bench when PTT was held for extended periods on a pack that had not completed its first full charge. Complete one full charge and discharge cycle on the T740, and the BMS will operate within its rated current window without tripping.
