Fits Keysight U5752A, U5855, and U5855A thermal cameras using UR-123 or 5190-3540 battery slots.
7.4V 2600mAh lithium-ion delivers 19.24Wh to power the thermal detector and display through full inspection cycles.
Connector seats flush into the camera's battery compartment with positive terminal facing the contact plate; locking tab snaps down after insertion.
We bench-tested the UR-123 replacement on a U5752A under sustained thermal detector load—BMS held steady at 7.4V with no premature cutoff at thermal load peaks.
On first power-on with this pack, let the detector stabilize for 60 seconds before starting thermal measurements so the internal sensor baseline locks in correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Keysight U5752A / U5855A Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (UR-123 / 5190-3540)

This is a 7.4V 2600mAh lithium-ion battery for the Keysight U5752A, U5855, and U5855A thermal imaging cameras. It slots into the same bay as the original and carries the same OEM part numbers: UR-123 and 5190-3540. Capacity figures come from product data, not estimates.

  • U5752A, U5855, and U5855A compatibility: These three models share the same 7.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The camera's power management circuit reads cell state-of-charge through the same communication line across all three, so one battery pack covers the whole group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack under combined display and thermal detector load — the draw profile thermal cameras produce during active scanning. The BMS held cutoff thresholds in range and did not trip under the startup surge the detector heating element pulls on cold power-on.
  • Detector stabilisation after swap: After fitting a fresh battery, allow the camera to run for at least 60 seconds before taking measurements. The thermal detector requires the internal electronics to reach a stable temperature for accurate baseline calibration — readings taken immediately after power-on will drift.

Thermal camera shutting down mid-inspection on a new battery

The U5752A and U5855A draw current from two simultaneous loads: the LCD display and the microbolometer detector heating element. During an active scan in a hot environment, the combined draw can spike above what the BMS expects from normal operation. If the pack voltage sags below the BMS protection threshold under that spike — even briefly — the camera cuts power to protect the cells. This is not a faulty battery; it is the protection circuit doing its job. Let the camera cool for two minutes, reinsert the battery, and power on in a cooler area to confirm the pack is healthy before returning to the inspection site.

Thermal image accuracy degrading before the battery indicator shows low

The microbolometer in these cameras is voltage-sensitive. As cell voltage drops toward the lower half of its discharge curve — typically below 7.0V under load — detector bias voltage becomes less stable, and small thermal differences in the scene become harder to resolve accurately. The camera's fuel gauge reads state-of-charge from a stored model, not live cell voltage under load, so it can still show two bars while accuracy has already dropped. If readings look soft or noise increases before the low-battery warning appears, swap the battery and compare — a fresh pack at full voltage will show the difference immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions

My U5752A camera feels warm around the battery compartment during long inspections — is that normal or a sign something is wrong?

The thermal detector heating element and LCD together generate meaningful heat during continuous use, and that heat accumulates in the housing around the battery bay. Some warmth is expected. If the housing becomes hot to the touch or the camera shuts down, that points to the BMS tripping on combined thermal and electrical load — give the camera a two-minute rest to let the pack temperature drop below the BMS threshold before powering back on.

The battery drains noticeably faster when I'm scanning in cold outdoor conditions — why?

Li-ion cells lose usable capacity as temperature drops because internal resistance rises, which reduces the voltage the pack can sustain under load. The U5752A's detector heating element draws constant current regardless of ambient temperature, so cold weather pushes total current draw higher just as cell output voltage is weakest. Keep a second charged pack in an inside jacket pocket to maintain cell temperature, and swap when the first pack's indicator reaches one bar — do not let it fully discharge in the cold, as deep discharge below 3.0V per cell can make recovery difficult.

After fitting this battery, the U5855A powered on but then immediately shut off — what happened?

This is almost always the BMS re-initialisation sequence. If the replacement pack sat in storage for an extended period, cell voltage may have dropped low enough that the camera's power circuit sees it as a fault condition on first contact. Connect the battery to the camera's charger for a full charge cycle before attempting to power the device on — most BMS circuits will re-initialise and pass the handshake once the cells reach above 7.2V.
