Fits Kosnic KBAT1800 emergency lighting units; replaces OEM part number BAT18LFP1 directly.
3.2V LiFePO4 chemistry at 1500mAh delivers 4.8Wh—sufficient capacity for full-duration backup illumination during mains failure on standard emergency fittings.
Cylindrical cell seats vertically in the battery slot with positive terminal up; no locking tab, friction fit only.
Bench tested at full discharge and recharge cycle; BMS accepted the cell on first insertion with normal float voltage response.
Run a full manual test cycle within 24 hours of installation by holding the test button for the rated duration—this confirms the new cell accepts load and lets the charge controller register the new capacity before your next compliance test.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kosnic KBAT1800 — 3.2V LiFePO4 Replacement Battery (BAT18LFP1)

This is a 3.2V LiFePO4 cell rated at 1500mAh (4.8Wh), replacement part number BAT18LFP1. It fits the Kosnic KBAT1800 emergency lighting unit. The cell slots into the fitting and connects to the onboard charge controller that manages float charging between mains-on cycles.

  • KBAT1800 compatibility: The KBAT1800 fitting uses a dedicated charge controller matched to LiFePO4 float voltage — typically 3.45V. Swapping to a different chemistry would take the controller out of its calibrated range and cause incorrect charge termination or fault flags.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full discharge-to-cutoff cycle and confirmed the BMS held steady voltage output until depletion. The cell accepted the float charge without triggering the controller's overvoltage protection.
  • First test cycle after installation: Within 24 hours of fitting, hold the test button for the full rated duration. This lets the charge controller register the new cell's capacity baseline before any scheduled compliance test runs against it.

Emergency light failing its duration test after battery replacement

A freshly installed LiFePO4 cell may not pass a full duration test immediately. The cell ships in a partial state of charge, and the charge controller needs one complete charge cycle to condition the cell to full capacity. Running a duration test before that cycle completes will produce a shorter output than the cell can actually deliver. Fit the battery, allow 24 hours of mains charging, then run the test — the cell should hold its rated output across the full test period.

Charge indicator staying red after new battery installation

Some KBAT1800 fittings will hold the red fault LED if the incoming cell voltage sits outside the controller's float acceptance window on first connection. A cell that has self-discharged during storage can present below the threshold the controller expects to see at rest. Leave the fitting on mains power for two to four hours — the controller should step through its conditioning routine and shift the indicator to green once the cell voltage rises into the accepted float range of around 3.3–3.45V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Kosnic KBAT1800 light dims noticeably after just a couple of minutes during the test — is the new battery faulty?

This is almost always a conditioning issue, not a faulty cell. A cell that hasn't completed its first full charge cycle can't sustain load voltage under the current draw of the lamp circuit, so output drops early. Fit the battery, leave the fitting on mains for a full 24 hours, then repeat the test — the cell should hold steady output across the entire test duration.

The fitting still shows a fault LED after I've confirmed the new BAT18LFP1 is correctly seated and the mains is live — what's happening?

On some KBAT1800 fittings, the fault LED doesn't self-clear after a battery swap — it requires a manual reset. Disconnect mains power to the fitting, wait 30 seconds, then restore power. This forces the charge controller to re-initialise and re-read the cell. If the LED clears, the installation is good and the fitting will resume normal float charging.

The old battery in my KBAT1800 was visibly swollen when I removed it — should I be concerned about the fitting itself before installing the replacement?

Swelling in a LiFePO4 cell inside an emergency fitting usually points to years of continuous trickle charge at elevated ambient temperature inside the enclosure. Before fitting the replacement, check the charge controller output — if it's delivering above 3.5V continuously, the controller may be faulty and will repeat the overcharge damage on the new cell. Measure the float voltage at the battery terminals with a multimeter; anything consistently above 3.5V warrants replacing the fitting, not just the cell.
