Fits Kyocera Cadence LTE and replaces OEM part number SCP-70LBPS.
Voltage is 3.8V and capacity is 1200mAh — matches the original cell specifications exactly.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with no modification required on this device.
Bench testing showed the BMS delivered stable voltage under modem load with no early cutoff.
On first charge after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle before enabling USB fast charging — this allows the fuel gauge IC to recalibrate against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kyocera Cadence LTE / S2720 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SCP-70LBPS)

This is a 3.8V, 1200mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the original SCP-70LBPS battery in the Kyocera Cadence LTE and S2720 / S2720PP smartphones. It matches the original's dimensions at 57.24 × 36.00 × 5.50mm and drops into the same battery bay without modification. Voltage and capacity are spec-matched to work with the phone's existing charge IC and fuel gauge.

  • Cadence LTE, S2720, and S2720PP compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay geometry, connector orientation, and BMS handshake protocol — the SCP-70LBPS is the factory-specified cell across this entire lineup, so one part covers all variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the S2720 platform, confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and verified the charge IC reached a full 4.2V terminal voltage before cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and let the phone complete one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before any high-current session pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Cadence LTE after a cell swap

The Cadence LTE's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve data from the old, degraded cell. When a new cell is installed, the IC's voltage-to-percentage mapping is still calibrated to the old cell's internal resistance profile. At high-load moments — active LTE radio, screen-on — the new cell can sag in voltage faster than the IC expects, triggering a low-voltage shutdown even though the reported percentage reads 20–30%. One full uninterrupted discharge cycle below 10% followed by a complete charge resets the coulomb counter and eliminates most of these shutdowns.

Phone warm near the battery compartment during the first charge

A new Li-ion cell arrives with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, and the charge IC responds by delivering current into a higher-resistance load — which generates more heat than you'd see after a few cycles. This is normal during the first one or two charging sessions and not a sign of a defective cell. If the back of the phone feels hot to the touch rather than warm, disconnect and let it cool to room temperature before resuming. By the third full charge cycle, impedance drops and the warmth should be minimal.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Kyocera Cadence LTE shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell bad?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the S2720 platform holds onto the discharge curve it learned from your old, worn-out cell. When the new cell's voltage sags under LTE or screen load, the IC interprets that as a critical low-voltage event and shuts the phone down, even though the display still shows 25%. Run one full uninterrupted discharge — let the phone die completely — then charge it to 100% without interruption. That single cycle resets the coulomb counter and clears most phantom shutdowns.

The battery percentage is jumping around erratically — it was at 60%, then jumped to 45%, then back to 55% without me doing anything.

Erratic percentage readings after a cell swap mean the fuel gauge IC is actively recalibrating against a discharge curve it hasn't seen before. The old cell's curve is gone, and the IC is estimating as it goes until it completes a full cycle. Avoid pulling the phone off charge mid-cycle during this period — partial charges slow the recalibration down. After one complete discharge from 100% to shutdown followed by a full charge, the IC locks onto the new cell's curve and the percentage stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my S2720 — it's only doing slow charging now.

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the Cadence LTE's charge IC sometimes defaults to a lower current rate while it verifies the new cell's BMS response. This is a built-in safety step — the IC won't hand full fast-charge current to a cell it hasn't yet characterised. Let the phone complete one full charge at the slower rate without interrupting it. On the second charge cycle, the IC should re-negotiate the higher charge current. If fast charging still doesn't return after two full cycles, check that the original fast-charge-capable cable and adapter are in use — the protocol negotiation happens at the adapter, not just the phone.
