Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo IdeaPad 320 Series — 7.5V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L16L2PB1)
This 7.5V, 3900mAh (29.25Wh) lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in Lenovo IdeaPad 320 notebooks. It covers the 320-15IAP, 320-17IKB, 320-17ISK, and over 100 additional IdeaPad 320 variants. Cross-reference OEM part numbers L16L2PB1, L16M2PB1, L16S2PB2, L16C2PB2, L16L2PB2, L16L2PB3, L16M2PB3, L16C2PB1, L16S2PB1, L16M2PB2, L17L2PF1, or L17M2PB7 against your existing cell before ordering.
- IdeaPad 320 series fit: All IdeaPad 320 variants covered here share the same 7.5V two-cell architecture, identical connector pinout, and matching BMS handshake protocol — that is why one cell spans this many model numbers without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an IdeaPad 320-15IAP and confirmed the BMS initialised correctly, the BIOS recognised the pack without fault codes, and charge current tapered normally through CC/CV transition to 100%.
- First-cycle calibration on IdeaPad 320: After fitting, discharge the laptop normally until it hibernates at low battery, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This forces the IdeaPad 320's BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell chemistry and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The IdeaPad 320 BIOS stores learned capacity and health data in EEPROM tied to the old cell. When a new pack is fitted, that stale EEPROM data makes the BIOS flag the replacement as degraded — even when the cell is brand new. This is a firmware reading problem, not a battery fault. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%; the BIOS learn cycle rewrites the EEPROM against the new cell's actual characteristics. After two to three full cycles, the health status and capacity reading stabilise.
IdeaPad 320 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This happens when the fuel gauge IC's stored discharge curve no longer matches the new cell's voltage profile. Under full CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the uncalibrated gauge expects, and the system interprets it as imminent cutoff. The laptop shuts down even though the percentage shown looks safe. Discharge fully to hibernate cutoff twice in a row without interrupting, charging to 100% each time in between — this gives the fuel gauge IC two complete reference curves to recalibrate against the replacement cell. After calibration, the shutdown threshold should track accurately to below 5%.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my IdeaPad 320 show 0% or "unknown battery" immediately after fitting the replacement?
The BIOS reads EEPROM data written by the original cell — when a new pack installs, that stored identity data does not match and the system reports 0% or unknown. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Boot into Windows, let the laptop discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that first complete learn cycle the BIOS rewrites its EEPROM reference and the battery shows correctly.
The IdeaPad 320 battery info screen shows a Wh rating that does not match the 29.25Wh spec — is the cell wrong?
No. The Wh figure displayed in Lenovo Vantage or Device Manager is pulled from the EEPROM of the original cell, not recalculated from the new chemistry. Until the BIOS completes a full learn cycle against the replacement pack, it keeps displaying the old cell's rated Wh. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by a full charge to 100% and the reported Wh value will update to reflect the actual cell.
My IdeaPad 320 stops charging at 80% and will not go higher — is the new battery faulty?
Not necessarily. Lenovo's BIOS includes a Conservation Mode charge limit that caps charging at 60% or 80% to reduce cell stress during long plugged-in use. Check Lenovo Vantage under Power → Battery Settings and look for Conservation Mode or charge threshold settings. Disable Conservation Mode or set the upper threshold to 100%, then reconnect the charger — the cell will continue charging to full from that point.
