Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 — 11.55V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (5B10X49072)
This 11.55V, 4500mAh (51.98Wh) Li-Polymer battery fits the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 convertible notebook series. It replaces OEM part numbers including L19C3PD6, L19M3PD6, L19D3PD6, SB10X49071, SB10X49076, and SB10X49078. Confirmed fitment includes 81CA001KUS, 80XA000YUS, 80XB000TUS, and over 40 additional Flex 5 configurations.
- Flex 5 platform compatibility: These Flex 5 variants share a common battery connector pinout, BMS handshake protocol, and 11.55V nominal rail — all covered by this cell. The SMBus communication lines match the Flex 5 motherboard's fuel gauge IC without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a Flex 5 unit and confirmed the BMS initialised correctly on first boot. Charge acceptance was normal across the full voltage range, and the system reported battery presence without error codes.
- Post-installation learn cycle: After fitting, discharge the laptop fully to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor after replacement
The Flex 5 BIOS reads health data stored in the old cell's EEPROM and compares it against the new cell's reported state. A fresh cell has no charge history logged, which the BIOS interprets as a mismatch and flags as degraded. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a calibration gap. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate then a full uninterrupted charge; the BIOS learn cycle will write new baseline data and clear the warning.
Laptop shuts down at 20–30% shown on the fuel gauge
The fuel gauge IC on the Flex 5 motherboard stores discharge curve data calibrated to the original cell. After a cell swap, those stored curves no longer match the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity relationship. When the CPU and display pull full load, the new cell hits a voltage cliff earlier than the gauge predicts — the system interprets this as a critical low-power event and shuts down before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Run two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles; the gauge IC recalibrates its internal model against the new cell's actual curve, and the shutdowns stop. Confirm the cell is holding above 10.5V at the point the system previously cut out.

Frequently Asked Questions
Windows is showing my new Flex 5 battery as 0% and "not charging" right after installation — is the cell dead?
It is not dead. The fuel gauge IC on the Flex 5 motherboard has no charge history for the new cell and defaults to 0% until it completes a calibration cycle. Plug in the charger, let the laptop charge uninterrupted to 100%, then discharge fully to hibernate cutoff. After one complete cycle the gauge will read accurately and the "not charging" flag will clear.
My Flex 5 is stopping charge at 80% and won't go higher — what's blocking it?
This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a fault with the replacement cell. Lenovo's firmware includes a battery conservation mode that caps charge at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress. Open the Lenovo Vantage app, go to Power, and check whether Battery Conservation Mode is switched on. Turn it off and the charge ceiling returns to 100%.
System information shows the wrong Wh rating for the new battery — it's reading lower than the 51.98Wh on the label.
The Wh figure shown in Windows Device Manager or Lenovo Vantage pulls from EEPROM data embedded in the cell, which stores the rated chemistry value at manufacture. The OS-reported number can differ slightly from the label figure due to rounding in the EEPROM register versus the calculated value from voltage and capacity. If the reading is within a few watt-hours of 51.98Wh, the cell is correct. Run a full discharge-to-hibernate cycle and the reported value will stabilise as the fuel gauge IC writes updated data against the actual cell.
