Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 14ABR8 Series — 11.52V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (5B11K39352)
This 11.52V, 4750mAh (54.72Wh) lithium-polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 14ABR8 series, including models 82XE0001RK through 82XE0004RK and over 228 additional variants. It mounts to the same connector and BMS handshake points as the factory cell. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec exactly — no adapter or modification required.
- IdeaPad Slim 5 14ABR8 platform fit: All 82XE-series variants share the same three-cell Li-Polymer architecture, 11.52V nominal rail, and L22-series connector pinout. The BMS reads cell chemistry and pack ID from the same EEPROM register across the entire run, so one replacement cell covers the full model spread without firmware conflict.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, full-load discharge, and hibernate-cutoff on an 82XE board. The BMS accepted the pack without throwing an unknown-battery flag, and the charge controller stepped through CC/CV phases correctly to 100%.
- Post-install calibration on the IdeaPad Slim 5: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to re-baseline against the new cell and clears the inaccurate "poor health" warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor after replacement on the IdeaPad Slim 5
The IdeaPad Slim 5 BIOS reads health status from EEPROM data stored on the battery pack itself. When a new cell is installed, the EEPROM counters reset to factory defaults, but the BIOS fuel gauge IC has not yet run a learn cycle against the new cell's actual charge curve. This mismatch triggers a "poor health" or low-capacity warning that has nothing to do with the cell's condition. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the learn cycle and clears the flag.
IdeaPad Slim 5 shutting down at 20–30% shown on the fuel gauge
This symptom points to a voltage cliff — the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under combined CPU and display load before the fuel gauge reaches 0%. It happens most often when the fuel gauge IC has not been calibrated to the new cell's discharge curve. The gauge was still using learned data from the degraded original cell, so the percentage reading lags behind actual cell voltage. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and full-charge cycles; after the second cycle the gauge re-maps to the new cell and shutdown moves back to the correct low-voltage point near 3.0V per cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My IdeaPad Slim 5 is showing the replacement battery as "0%" or "unknown" in Windows — is the cell dead?
The fuel gauge IC on this platform reads EEPROM data from the previous cell and can't immediately map percentage to the new cell's voltage curve. Windows reports 0% or unknown until the IC completes its first learn cycle. Plug in the AC adapter, let it charge uninterrupted to 100%, then discharge fully to hibernate-cutoff. After that first complete cycle the gauge syncs to the new cell and reports correctly.
Windows says the new battery is 54Wh but the Lenovo Vantage app shows a different Wh rating — which is right?
The Wh figure in Vantage pulls from the EEPROM on the cell pack, which stores the rated design capacity at manufacture. Windows Energy Report calculates Wh from measured voltage and current in real time, so small differences between the two readings are normal and expected. The product data-spec 54.72Wh is the actual cell capacity. If Vantage shows a figure far outside that range after two full cycles, reseat the battery connector to confirm a clean EEPROM read.
The IdeaPad Slim 5 won't charge above 80% with the new cell installed — is this a faulty battery?
This is almost always the Lenovo Conservation Mode charge limit, not a cell fault. Lenovo BIOS and Vantage include a firmware-controlled charge ceiling that caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress — it applies to replacement cells exactly the same as the original. Open Lenovo Vantage, go to Power, and check the Battery Charge Threshold settings. Disabling Conservation Mode or setting the upper threshold to 100% will allow the cell to charge fully.
