Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo Legion Y530 / Y730 — 11.25V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L17C3PG1)
This 11.25V, 4400mAh (49.5Wh) Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Lenovo Legion Y530, Legion Y730 15-ICH, Legion Y7000, and Legion Y730. It matches the OEM connector, cell count, and BMS handshake required by the Legion platform. Fits all variants covered by OEM part numbers L17C3PG1 through L17S3PG1.
- Legion Y530 / Y730 platform fit: These four Legion models share the same three-cell Li-Polymer architecture, 11.25V nominal rail, and EC-to-BMS communication protocol. One cell design covers the full variant range without any hardware modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge, discharge, and load cycles on a Legion Y530 unit. The BMS handshake completed on first boot, charge current ramped correctly through CC and CV phases, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at low-voltage cutoff without a hard shutdown.
- Post-install calibration cycle: After fitting this cell, run the laptop on battery until it reaches hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on Legion hardware.
BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after replacement
The Legion BIOS reads health data from EEPROM registers on the battery controller, not from live cell voltage. When a new cell arrives, those registers contain factory defaults that the BIOS flags as degraded. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the learn cycle and rewrites the EEPROM health data against the new cell's actual capacity. After two to three cycles, the BIOS health indicator should read normal.
Legion Y530 shutting down at 20–30% charge remaining
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's discharge curve. The gauge was trained on the old, degraded cell and misjudges the voltage cliff on the new one. Under full CPU plus display load, the laptop hits a voltage level the BIOS interprets as critical before the displayed percentage catches up. Run two complete discharge-to-hibernate cycles back-to-back, charging fully between each, and the fuel gauge IC recalibrates its endpoint voltage — the premature shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Legion Y530 shows the new battery as 0% or "unknown" in Windows immediately after fitting — is the cell dead?
No. The Windows fuel gauge IC is reading cached EEPROM data from the old battery controller, not live cell voltage from the new one. Boot into Windows, let the battery charge to 100%, then run a full discharge to hibernate cutoff without interrupting it. That single cycle forces the fuel gauge to register the new cell and clears the 0% or unknown state.
The replacement cell is only charging to 80% and stops — the charge light goes off as if it's full, but the gauge never moves past 80%.
This is a BIOS-controlled charge threshold, not a fault with the cell. Lenovo's firmware includes a charge limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during long plugged-in sessions. Open Lenovo Vantage, navigate to Power, and check the Battery Charge Threshold setting — switch it from Conservation Mode to Normal Mode and the charge ceiling moves back to 100%.
Windows is showing the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it says 45Wh but the cell is rated 49.5Wh. Should I be worried?
The Wh figure Windows reports pulls from the EEPROM design capacity field, which the old cell wrote during its first registration cycle. The new cell's EEPROM hasn't overwritten that value yet. Run two full discharge-to-100%-charge calibration cycles and the reported Wh rating will update to reflect the actual 49.5Wh spec of the replacement cell.
