Lenovo Yoga 6 13ALC7 / 13ABR8 — 15.52V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L21C4PE2)
This is a 15.52V, 3700mAh (57.42Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Lenovo Yoga 6 13-inch convertible laptop. It fits the 13ALC7 and 13ABR8 series, including model numbers 82UD006HKR, 83B2003MTX, 82UD001CMJ, and 82UD0070UK among others. It replaces OEM part numbers L21C4PE2, L21D4PE2, L21L4PE2, and L21M4PE2.
- Yoga 6 13ALC7 and 13ABR8 compatibility: Both series run the same 15.52V power rail, use the same physical connector, and share a BMS handshake protocol — which is why all four OEM part numbers above cross to a single cell form factor.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Yoga 6 unit. The BMS communicated correctly with the EC, charge current tapered as expected at the top end, and the fuel gauge IC updated without errors.
- BIOS learn cycle after install: After fitting this cell, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears on first boot after any cell swap.
Why the Yoga 6 BIOS flags a new battery as poor health
The Lenovo EC reads stored EEPROM data from the old cell and compares it against the new one on first boot. Because the new cell has no charge history, the EC often reports 0% health or flags the battery as unknown. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a calibration state. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted full charge, and the BIOS health indicator will update to reflect the actual cell condition.
Yoga 6 shutting down at 20–30% charge remaining
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's voltage curve. The gauge reports 20–30% remaining, but the actual cell voltage has already dropped below the load threshold under combined CPU and display draw. The EC triggers shutdown to protect the cell. Run two to three full discharge-to-hibernate and full-charge cycles — after calibration, the gauge tracks the real voltage curve and shutdowns at low charge stop.

My Yoga 6 shows the battery as "Unknown" in Lenovo Vantage right after fitting the new cell — is it faulty?
It is not faulty. The Lenovo EC reads EEPROM data written by the original cell, and a fresh replacement has no charge history stored. Vantage reports "Unknown" or 0% until the EC writes new data. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%, and Vantage will update the battery status correctly.
The Yoga 6 shuts down suddenly at around 25% — this didn't happen with the old battery.
The fuel gauge IC hasn't calibrated its voltage curve against the new cell yet. Under combined CPU and display load, the actual cell voltage drops below the EC's cutoff threshold while the gauge still reads 25%. The EC shuts down to protect the cell. After two or three full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles, the gauge tracks the real curve and the early shutdowns stop.
Windows reports the Yoga 6 battery Wh rating as different from what's listed — is this the wrong cell?
The Wh figure Windows reads comes from the EEPROM data embedded in the new cell, which reflects rated chemistry values. The product data lists 57.42Wh, and minor variation in what the OS displays is normal — the EEPROM value and the measured capacity converge after calibration cycles. If Windows shows a figure far outside that range after three full cycles, check Device Manager for a separate EC firmware flag rather than assuming a cell mismatch.
