This is a 7.7V, 7800mAh (60.06Wh) lithium-polymer replacement battery for the LG 14Z970 and Gram ultrabook series. It fits the GRAM -G.AA52C, GRAM -G.AA53C, GRAM -G.AA75C, and over 150 additional Gram variants sharing the LBR1223E specification. The flat pouch cell matches the original footprint at 260.00 x 97.60 x 5.70mm.

  • LG Gram platform compatibility: These Gram models share the same 7.7V battery rail, LBR1223E connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one cell covers the full Gram lineup despite different model suffixes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, discharge, and BMS communication checks on the 14Z970 platform. The BMS authenticated the cell, reported state-of-charge correctly, and did not trigger fault codes.
  • Post-install calibration on the LG Gram: After fitting, run the laptop on battery until it hibernates at low charge, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning the Gram firmware throws after every cell swap.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell

The LG Gram BIOS stores battery health data in EEPROM tied to the original cell's charge history. When you swap the cell, that stored data doesn't reset automatically — the BIOS reads the old profile and flags the new cell as degraded. This is firmware behaviour, not a fault with the replacement. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a full uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the BIOS learn cycle will rewrite the EEPROM data against the new cell's actual capacity.

Laptop shuts down with 20–30% charge still showing on screen

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't calibrated against the new cell's voltage curve. The IC is still reading the old cell's discharge profile, so it misjudges where the voltage cliff sits — the battery hits minimum cell voltage under CPU and display load before the gauge reaches zero. It is not a defective cell. Run two to three full discharge-to-hibernate cycles, charging fully between each, and the fuel gauge IC will recalibrate. After calibration, confirm the cell rests at approximately 8.7V fully charged.

The fuel gauge IC on the Gram reads EEPROM data from the previous cell and loses its reference point when a new cell is installed. This causes Windows to display 0% or "unknown" until the IC re-establishes communication. Plug in the charger and leave it connected for a full charge cycle without interruption. If the reading normalises above 90%, the cell and BMS are working correctly — run one full discharge-to-hibernate cycle to complete calibration.

The LG Gram BIOS is reporting the wrong Wh rating — it shows 57Wh instead of 60Wh after the swap. Should I be concerned?

The Wh figure the BIOS displays is pulled from the EEPROM rating stored on the cell's protection circuit, which can differ slightly from the measured chemistry capacity. The 60.06Wh figure in the product data reflects the actual cell capacity, not the EEPROM-stored nominal. Check LG's power management utility or the BIOS power settings menu for a "battery care" or "charge limit" option. Disable it or set the charge ceiling to 100%, then reconnect the charger. The cell will charge to full once the firmware limit is lifted.
