Linak Deskline CBD6S / Homeline — 24V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BA001)
This is a 24V, 2100mAh Li-ion replacement for the Linak BA001 battery. It fits the Deskline, CBD6S, and Homeline controller units. These controllers manage height adjustment, motor drive, and preset memory on Linak-powered standing desks.
- Deskline / CBD6S / Homeline compatibility: All three platforms share the same 24V controller architecture and use the BA001 cell pack. The BMS handshake, connector pinout, and voltage rail are identical across these lines — one battery covers the full group.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a CBD6S controller. The BMS accepted charge without fault flags, voltage held steady at 24V under motor-start draw, and the controller completed height adjustments across the full travel range without interruption.
- Preset memory after swap: The Deskline controller stores height presets in a memory module backed by this battery. Removing the old battery — even briefly — clears all saved positions. After fitting the new battery, re-program every height preset from scratch before returning the desk to use.
Why the CBD6S loses height memory when the battery dies
The Deskline controller does not use non-volatile flash for height presets. It relies on the BA001 battery to hold a continuous trickle voltage to the memory module. Once that voltage drops below roughly 20V, the controller treats it as a cold start and wipes all stored positions. A battery that reads low but hasn't fully failed yet will cause intermittent preset loss — heights disappear and reappear depending on charge state. Replacing the battery resolves this; recalibrating presets afterward is mandatory.
Controller not responding to up/down inputs after battery replacement
After a battery swap, some CBD6S and Homeline units enter a locked state and ignore handset commands. This happens because the controller loses its calibrated travel reference when power is cut. To re-home it, hold the down button until the desk reaches its lowest physical stop and the controller registers a hard limit — typically indicated by a brief motor stutter. Once re-homed, normal up/down operation and preset programming resume. If the desk still won't respond, confirm the new battery is reading at least 24V before suspecting a controller fault.

My Linak desk forgot all my height presets after I swapped the battery — do I have to reprogram them?
Yes — this is expected behaviour, not a fault. The Deskline controller keeps preset memory alive through continuous battery voltage; pulling the old battery clears everything. There is no way to back up or restore presets from the controller itself. Re-enter each saved height position through the handset after the new battery is installed.
The desk won't move up or down at all after fitting the new battery — handset does nothing
The controller has lost its travel calibration and locked out movement commands. Hold the down button continuously until the desk reaches its lowest mechanical stop; the controller needs to re-establish that hard limit before it will accept any input. You'll feel or hear the motor stutter briefly when it registers the floor position. After that, normal operation and preset programming work from 0V at the low stop upward.
The controller is showing a low battery warning straight after I put in the new battery
New Li-ion cells ship at storage voltage — typically 20–22V — not at full charge. The Deskline controller triggers a low-battery warning below a set threshold, and a cell fresh out of the box will trip that warning immediately. Connect the desk to mains power and let the battery charge fully to 24V before using height adjustment. Once the cell reaches full charge the warning clears on its own.
