Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Malata i10 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (B45)

This 3.8V, 1700mAh Li-Polymer battery is a direct cell replacement for the Malata i10 smartphone. It matches the original voltage rail and connector layout used on the i10 mainboard. Capacity figure is 1700mAh (6.46Wh) as specified in product data — not estimated from third-party sources.

  • Malata i10 fitment: The i10 uses a sealed Li-Polymer cell with a low-profile 4.85mm stack height and a specific three-pad connector. Voltage regulation on this board expects a 3.8V nominal cell — substituting a 3.7V cell shifts the charge termination point and can cause the OS to misread state of charge.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the i10 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.35V, and the fuel gauge IC tracked discharge without erratic jumps after the first full cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging pushes load into an uncalibrated register.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Malata i10 after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC still references the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. The new cell has a steeper voltage cliff at lower states of charge, so the phone cuts power before the OS registers the drop. It is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a calibration mismatch. Run one full uninterrupted discharge to below 5% and a full charge to 100% to force the coulomb counter to reset against the new curve.

Phone reports wrong battery percentage after installing the new cell

The i10's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge profile from the previous cell in non-volatile memory. Until it overwrites that profile, percentage readings will appear frozen, jump forward, or plateau at a fixed value. One complete discharge-charge cycle — with the phone on and in normal use — forces the IC to log new voltage-versus-capacity data points. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Malata i10 shuts off at around 25% after I put the new battery in — is the battery faulty?

It is not a faulty cell. The phone's fuel gauge IC is still reading voltage against the old cell's discharge curve, so it triggers a low-voltage shutdown earlier than the actual state of charge warrants. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging off. After that single cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the early shutdowns stop.

The i10 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V the BMS will lock out to prevent damage — the phone shows nothing when you press the power button. Plug into a wall charger (not a USB port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything; the charge IC on the i10 runs a trickle pre-charge to bring the cell above the BMS unlock threshold. Once it crosses approximately 3.0V, the BMS releases and normal charging resumes.

The Malata i10 feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges with the new cell — should I be worried?

Mild warmth on the first one or two charge cycles is normal with a new Li-Polymer cell. A fresh cell has slightly higher internal impedance until it is conditioned, which means the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the constant-current phase. If the phone is hot to the touch or charging stops with an error, remove it and let it cool before resuming. After two full cycles, impedance drops and the warmth disappears.
