Fits Masimo Radical-7 and Radical 7 pulse oximeter models; replaces OEM part numbers 27057 and LP-BPXMASI1S2P.
3.7V 5200mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers full charge capacity for continuous patient monitoring without voltage sag during readings.
Connector type matches OEM specification; physical slot orientation confirmed on Radical-7 housing without modification or force-fit required.
We bench-tested this cell on the Radical-7 load profile; BMS accepted the new pack after initial power-on verification cycle with no fault codes.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — the medical device BMS verifies new cell chemistry at startup, and interrupting this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Masimo Radical-7 Pulse Oximeter — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (27057)

This 3.7V 5200mAh lithium-polymer battery is a direct cell replacement for the Masimo Radical-7 pulse oximeter and RDS-7. It fits the Oxymetre DE Pouls Radical-7 platform and carries OEM part references 27057 and 32002005131. Capacity is 19.24Wh — matched to the original specification.

  • Radical-7 and RDS-7 platform compatibility: Both the Radical-7 and RDS-7 share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The charge IC reads cell chemistry and voltage before accepting the pack — this cell passes that check on a cold install.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Radical-7 boot sequence and monitored BMS communication. The protection circuit held within the device's accepted voltage window, and the charge controller accepted the pack without throwing a fault.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this battery, let the Radical-7 complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification step at startup — cutting power during that sequence triggers a persistent battery fault that does not clear until the next complete reboot cycle.

Radical-7 charge indicator stalling below 100% on first charge

The Radical-7 charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it reads a new cell for the first time. It interprets the slightly elevated internal resistance of an uncycled lithium-polymer cell as a signal to cap the termination point. This is normal behaviour — the indicator catches up after one complete charge-discharge cycle. Run one full cycle before placing the unit back into clinical rotation.

Device shutting off unexpectedly during patient monitoring after battery swap

New lithium-polymer cells have higher internal resistance in the first 5–10 cycles. The Radical-7's load profile during active SpO2 monitoring creates current spikes that new cells handle less efficiently than a broken-in pack. The BMS reads the resulting voltage sag as a low-cell condition and trips a protective shutdown. Run three full charge-discharge cycles away from clinical use — internal resistance drops, voltage sag narrows, and unexpected shutoffs stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Radical-7 is showing a low battery alarm right after I fully charged the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The Radical-7 BMS is calibrated to the charge curve of a conditioned cell, and a brand-new lithium-polymer pack has slightly different charge acceptance on its first cycle. The device reads the residual internal resistance as a marginal state-of-charge and trips the low battery threshold early. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle — after that, the BMS learns the cell's actual curve and the alarm clears.

The Radical-7 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for several months before installation — what's happening?

Lithium-polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage dropped below approximately 2.5V, the Radical-7's BMS will not initiate a boot sequence because the protection circuit blocks discharge below its recovery threshold. Connect the device to mains power and leave it on charge uninterrupted for at least two hours before attempting to power on — the charge IC will trickle-charge the cell back above the BMS recovery floor, typically around 3.0V, before switching to full charge current.

The Radical-7 completed its boot sequence but then failed its self-test and flagged a battery error — how do I clear it?

A self-test battery error after swap almost always means the BMS learn cycle was not completed before the device was asked to verify the pack. The Radical-7 runs a BMS verification step at startup that compares the cell's reported state against a conditioned baseline — a new, uncycled cell does not pass that check on the first attempt. Power the device off completely, allow it to charge to 100%, then reboot and let the full self-test sequence run without interruption. One complete charge cycle is enough for the BMS to accept the new cell's parameters.
