This 10.8V, 4400mAh (47.52Wh) Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Medion Akoya E6241, S4209, S4214, S4217, and compatible models.   • Akoya E6241 and S-series compatibility: These models share the same 10.8V power rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full range. Confirm the OEM part number on your existing battery to be certain.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Akoya platform and monitored BMS communication throughout. The protection circuit responded correctly to charge cutoff and low-voltage events with no false trips.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after replacement

The Akoya's BIOS reads health data stored in the battery's EEPROM. When you swap cells, the EEPROM values from the old, degraded unit do not automatically clear. The BIOS sees stale cycle count and capacity data and flags the battery as poor before a single charge completes. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate then a complete uninterrupted charge resets the learn cycle and rewrites the BIOS health estimate against real cell data.

Laptop cuts off at 20–30% shown on the charge indicator

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The old calibration data causes the OS to misread remaining capacity, and the system hits its low-voltage protection threshold well before the indicator reaches 0%. Force two or three full discharge-to-hibernate and full-recharge cycles. After the third cycle, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates and the shutoff point drops back to the correct low-voltage floor near 10.5V per cell group.

The Akoya E6241 BIOS says the new battery is unknown or shows 0% health — is the cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The BIOS is reading stale EEPROM data carried over from the old battery, not live data from the new one. Run a full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single learn cycle rewrites the BIOS health estimate against the new cell and clears the unknown or 0% reading.

Windows is showing the wrong Wh rating for this battery — it says 42Wh but the cell is 47.52Wh. Why?

The Wh figure Windows displays comes from the rated value stored in the battery's EEPROM, which does not always match the actual chemistry of the replacement cell. This is a data mismatch, not a capacity loss. The cell delivers its rated 47.52Wh regardless of what the OS reports. After one full calibration cycle the fuel gauge IC recalculates and the displayed figure will move closer to the actual value.

The charge stops at 80% and won't go higher — is there a fault with the replacement cell?

On the Akoya platform, charge limits are sometimes set at the BIOS level as a battery longevity feature. Check the Medion BIOS setup utility under the Power or Battery section for a charge threshold or battery care setting. If a limit is active, set it to 100% and reboot. If no BIOS setting is present, drain to hibernate then charge uninterrupted — a stuck charge loop occasionally clears after the fuel gauge IC resets at full discharge.
