Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Meilan Note 6 / M5 Note — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BA721)
The BA721 is a 3.85V, 3900mAh Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original power unit in the Meilan Note 6, M5 Note, M5 Note Global DualSIM, and M5 Note Global DualSIM TD-LTE. It fits the same connector and footprint as the factory cell. Capacity is rated at 15.02Wh.
- Note 6 and M5 Note platform compatibility: These models share the same chassis layout, battery connector pinout, and fuel gauge IC — the BA721 part number covers all four variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Meilan M5 Note unit. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake correctly and held voltage above 3.6V through the bulk of the discharge curve with no unexpected cutoffs.
- First-cycle fast charge caution: After installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging runs against an uncalibrated reference.
Why the Note 6 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Qualcomm PMIC in the M5 Note platform uses a coulomb counter that builds a capacity model from repeated charge and discharge cycles. When a new cell goes in, the counter still references the old cell's learned curve. The result is percentage readings that jump, stall, or show full charge when the cell is not actually full. One complete discharge down to automatic shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the fuel gauge IC to reset its baseline against the new cell's actual capacity.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under load — typically during modem activity, screen-on bursts, or navigation — even though the OS shows charge remaining. A new Li-Polymer cell can have slightly higher internal impedance on early cycles, causing a sharper voltage sag under peak draw than the fuel gauge anticipates. The BMS trips the protection circuit to prevent over-discharge. After three to five full cycles, internal impedance drops and the voltage cliff becomes less steep. If shutdowns persist past five cycles, check that the cell resting voltage after a full charge reads at or above 4.35V.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the new cell dead?
The BMS locks out the cell when voltage drops below roughly 2.5V per cell during storage — this is a protection cutoff, not a dead cell. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button; the charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will re-initialise and allow a normal boot. If the charging indicator appears within that window, the cell is recovering. If nothing shows after 45 minutes, check that the battery connector is fully seated on the board.
Fast charging stopped working after I installed the BA721 — my charger worked fine on the old battery.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the M5 Note platform sometimes fails to complete the USB handshake required for elevated current delivery, defaulting to standard 5V charging instead. Unplug the charger, power the phone off completely, then reconnect — this resets the charge IC negotiation sequence. If fast charge still does not engage, complete one full standard charge to 100% first; the proprietary protocol acceptance improves once the fuel gauge IC has an initial reference cycle logged.
The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery area while charging the new BA721 — is something wrong?
A new Li-Polymer cell typically has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, which means the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the constant-current phase of charging. This is normal for the first three to five cycles and reduces as impedance drops with use. Warmth that is uncomfortable to hold against skin, or heat that continues into the constant-voltage taper phase near 100%, is outside normal range. If that occurs, check that the phone case is not trapping heat and that the charger output does not exceed 9V at 2A for this platform.
