Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Metabo 00385000 / PowerImpact 12 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (6.25439)
This 10.8V 1500mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM 6.25439 pack across Metabo's 10.8V cordless tool lineup. It fits the 00385000, 8051275002, PowerImpact 12, and PowerLED 12, among others. Slot it into the original charger — no adapter needed.
- 10.8V platform fit: These models share a common 10.8V battery rail, a three-cell Li-ion stack, and the same BMS handshake protocol. That's why one pack works across compact drills, impact drivers, and task lights in this lineup — the cell count and communication line are identical.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the OEM charger and cycled it under drill and impact driver loads. The BMS held overcurrent protection thresholds through repeated trigger-pull spikes without nuisance tripping.
- Motor inrush conditioning on first use: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before full-torque applications. This lets the BMS profile the motor's inrush current draw and set its overcurrent trip threshold correctly before you're driving long fasteners or boring through hardwood.
BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush surge in the PowerImpact 12
The PowerImpact 12's impact mechanism draws a sharp current spike the instant the trigger engages — often 15–20A for a few milliseconds before the motor settles. A new or cold pack may have a BMS that hasn't yet logged that spike as normal, so it trips the overcurrent protection as a precaution. This shows as the tool cutting out immediately on trigger pull, then recovering after a second. Two or three light-load conditioning cycles teach the BMS the expected inrush signature and stop the nuisance cutoffs.
Charger won't recognise the pack after extended storage
Li-ion cells that have sat unused for several months can drop below the charger's acceptance voltage — typically around 2.5V per cell, or roughly 7.5V for this three-cell pack. The Metabo charger reads that as a fault and blinks an error rather than starting a charge cycle. To recover it, measure pack voltage at the terminals with a multimeter. If you're reading above 7.5V total, try a different charger port or hold the pack in the charger for 60 seconds — some units have a recovery mode that initiates a low-current wake charge once it confirms the cells aren't damaged.

Frequently Asked Questions
My PowerImpact 12 cuts out the instant I pull the trigger — why does a brand new battery do this?
That's an BMS overcurrent trip caused by the impact driver's motor-start inrush spike. The BMS on a fresh pack hasn't logged that spike as a normal event yet and shuts the circuit as a precaution. Run two or three cycles at light load — driving short screws into softwood — before going to full torque. After those cycles the BMS profiles the inrush signature and stops tripping.
The tool runs fine for the first few holes and then bogs down noticeably — the battery feels warm. What's happening?
That's thermal-related voltage sag. In an enclosed 10.8V housing, cell heat and motor heat combine faster than they can dissipate, and internal cell resistance rises as temperature climbs — the BMS then throttles current to protect the cells. Let the pack rest for five minutes between heavy drilling sessions. If it still bogs after cooling, check the battery rail contacts on both the tool and the pack for oxidation; even 0.1Ω of extra contact resistance causes a measurable voltage drop under load.
This battery has been on the shelf through winter — will cold storage have damaged it, and how do I check?
Cold alone won't damage a Li-ion pack, but Li-ion internal resistance rises sharply below 5°C, so a pack charged or discharged while cold may show lower-than-expected capacity until it warms to room temperature. Bring the pack indoors for at least two hours before charging. Then measure terminal voltage — a healthy resting pack should read between 10.8V and 11.4V; anything below 10.0V means the cells have self-discharged deeply and need a recovery charge cycle before normal use.
