Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Micromax Canvas 3D A115 / Canvas HD A116 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 2000mAh Li-ion cell for the Micromax Canvas 3D A115, Canvas HD A116, Canvas 4 A210, A117, and seven additional Canvas-series Android smartphones. It replaces the original battery when the cell loses capacity, swells, or stops holding a charge. Voltage and physical dimensions — 70.00 × 59.90 × 4.40mm — match the stock cell.
- Canvas-series shared platform: These models run on a common Mediatek board layout that shares the same battery connector pitch and BMS handshake voltage thresholds. That is why one cell covers the full Canvas range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a Canvas HD A116 unit. The BMS accepted the charge handshake on the first cycle, and the fuel gauge IC tracked discharge without a false cutoff.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high current is pushed into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Canvas series after a cell swap
The Canvas-series fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell is installed, the IC applies the old curve to a cell with different impedance characteristics. Under modem load or screen-on draw, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC predicts, triggering an emergency cutoff before the OS can warn the user. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without interruption to overwrite the stored curve. After the second cycle, the IC recalibrates and the 20–30% shutoff stops.
Phone reports wrong battery percentage after replacing the cell
This happens because the coulomb counter inside the phone retains data from the previous cell and maps capacity readings to an outdated baseline. The result is percentage jumps, a stuck reading, or a rapid drop from 50% to zero. Drain the battery completely until the phone shuts off on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the cable. One full cycle is usually enough to re-anchor the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual capacity floor and ceiling.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Micromax Canvas shuts off by itself when the battery still shows 25% — is the new cell faulty?
Not necessarily faulty — the fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve from your old battery. When screen brightness or mobile data spikes current draw, the new cell's voltage sags faster than the IC expects, and the phone cuts power to protect the circuit. Run two full discharge-charge cycles: drain until automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% both times. After the second cycle the IC recalibrates and the premature cutoff clears.
The battery percentage on my Canvas jumps around erratically after I put in the new cell — sometimes it gains 10% without charging.
The coulomb counter stored calibration data from the worn-out original cell and is misreading the new cell's charge state. It has no reference for where the new cell's voltage floor and ceiling actually sit. Do one uninterrupted full discharge — let the phone shut itself off — then charge straight to 100% without unplugging. That single cycle gives the counter two anchor points and the erratic jumping stops.
My Canvas won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in the phone unused for a few weeks — did the BMS lock out?
Yes. If the cell discharged below roughly 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent damage from charging a critically low cell. Connect the phone to the original charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on — do not press the power button during this period. The BMS uses a trickle pre-charge mode to bring the cell above the lockout threshold first. Once voltage recovers above 3.0V the BMS releases and the phone boots normally.
