Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Minox DC5211 / DC6311 / DC8111 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 1050mAh (3.89Wh) lithium-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Minox DC5211, DC6311, and DC8111 compact digital cameras. All three models share the same battery form factor, connector pin-out, and BMS communication protocol. Swap this cell in when the original no longer holds a full charge or the camera refuses to power on.
- DC5211, DC6311, and DC8111 compatibility: These three Minox compacts run on the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with an identical physical footprint and contact layout. One cell fits all three bodies without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirming the BMS holds the correct voltage floor and ceiling for Li-ion chemistry. The protection circuit tripped correctly at both the low-voltage cutoff and the overcharge threshold.
- First charge in-camera: Charge this cell inside the camera body via the OEM charger before your first shoot. Some Minox BMS implementations require one full in-body charge cycle to calibrate the battery-remaining indicator and accept a new cell as trusted.
Camera showing dead battery indicator on a partially charged replacement cell
Minox compact cameras map battery percentage to a fixed voltage-threshold table stored in firmware. A new Li-ion cell has a slightly different discharge curve than a worn original, so the camera can misread state-of-charge on first use. The indicator may jump from full to empty or show dead before the cell is actually depleted. One full charge cycle completed inside the camera body re-anchors the threshold mapping to the new cell's actual curve.
Flash not fully recycling between shots on a new battery
The flash capacitor draws a sharp burst of current every time it recharges between shots. If this replacement cell was stored for an extended period before installation, its resting voltage may have dropped below the 3.5V mark, leaving less headroom for capacitor recharge current. The result is a longer recycle gap or a noticeably weaker flash output. Charge the cell fully — to 4.2V — before your first shooting session and the recycle lag will clear.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Minox DC5211 shows "no battery" or won't recognise this replacement — what's causing it?
The camera's BMS runs an authentication check when a new cell is seated. A cell that hasn't been charged inside the camera body yet can fail that check and trigger the no-battery message even though the cell is good. Seat the battery, connect the OEM charger directly to the camera, and let it complete one full charge cycle inside the body. After that cycle, the camera should recognise the cell and display charge status normally.
My shot count is much lower than I expected — is something wrong with the cell?
Shot count drops fast when flash, continuous autofocus, and image stabilisation all run together — those draws stack well beyond what the spec count assumes. The rated figure is typically measured with flash off and minimal AF activity. Check your shooting mode: switching off optical stabilisation when shooting static subjects and reducing flash frequency will bring shot count closer to the rated capacity of 1050mAh.
The battery percentage on my DC6311 jumps around erratically — it skips from 60% to 10% with no warning.
This is a voltage-threshold mismatch between the camera's firmware indicator table and the discharge curve of a new cell. It's most visible in the mid-range — the camera firmware was tuned to an aged original cell's curve, not a fresh one. Run two or three full charge and discharge cycles through the camera body. Each cycle lets the firmware recalibrate its readings against the actual voltage curve of the new cell, and the percentage display will stabilise.
