Minox DC5211 / DC6311 / DC8111 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 1050mAh (3.89Wh) lithium-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Minox DC5211, DC6311, and DC8111 compact digital cameras. All three models share the same battery form factor, connector pin-out, and BMS communication protocol. Swap this cell in when the original no longer holds a full charge or the camera refuses to power on.

• DC5211, DC6311, and DC8111 compatibility: These three Minox compacts run on the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with an identical physical footprint and contact layout. One cell fits all three bodies without modification.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirming the BMS holds the correct voltage floor and ceiling for Li-ion chemistry. The protection circuit tripped correctly at both the low-voltage cutoff and the overcharge threshold.
• First charge in-camera: Charge this cell inside the camera body via the OEM charger before your first shoot. Some Minox BMS implementations require one full in-body charge cycle to calibrate the battery-remaining indicator and accept a new cell as trusted.

Minox compact cameras map battery percentage to a fixed voltage-threshold table stored in firmware. A new Li-ion cell has a slightly different discharge curve than a worn original, so the camera can misread state-of-charge on first use. The indicator may jump from full to empty or show dead before the cell is actually depleted. One full charge cycle completed inside the camera body re-anchors the threshold mapping to the new cell's actual curve.

Flash not fully recycling between shots on a new battery

The flash capacitor draws a sharp burst of current every time it recharges between shots. If this replacement cell was stored for an extended period before installation, its resting voltage may have dropped below the 3.5V mark, leaving less headroom for capacitor recharge current. The result is a longer recycle gap or a noticeably weaker flash output. Charge the cell fully — to 4.2V — before your first shooting session and the recycle lag will clear.
