Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mobiado Lucido / Luminoso / Stealth — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP-6M-S)
This is a 3.7V, 700mAh Li-ion cell matching the BP-6M-S specification. It fits the Mobiado Lucido, Luminoso, and Stealth smartphones. Voltage, connector pinout, and physical dimensions (40.20 × 40.90 × 6.50mm) match the original cell exactly.
- Lucido, Luminoso, and Stealth compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions and the same BP-6M-S connector layout. The BMS handshake uses the same NTC thermistor line, so the charge IC recognises the replacement cell without firmware complaints.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a BP-6M-S compatible platform. The BMS held charge termination at 4.2V and engaged protection cutoff correctly at the low-voltage threshold. No thermal anomalies during the CC/CV transition.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting, run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before using the device normally. This lets the coulomb counter establish a fresh baseline against the new cell's actual discharge curve, preventing erratic percentage readings early on.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
A new cell has a slightly different voltage-versus-capacity curve than the worn original. The phone's fuel gauge IC still references the old curve, so it predicts 20–30% remaining at a point where the new cell's voltage actually drops steeply under modem or screen load. The processor sees voltage dip below its minimum rail requirement and shuts down before the gauge reaches zero. One full calibration cycle — discharge to cutoff, full uninterrupted charge — rewrites the fuel gauge reference and eliminates these early shutdowns.
Phone not powering on after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks normal charge current to protect against unsafe charging of a deeply discharged cell. The phone will appear completely dead — no boot, no charge indicator. Connect the phone to a wall charger rather than a PC USB port, which supplies only 500mA; a wall adapter delivers enough current for the charge IC to push a small trickle charge past the BMS lockout threshold. Leave it connected for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Mobiado shows the wrong battery percentage after I put in a new BP-6M-S — jumps from 80% straight to 15% then back up. What's going on?
The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell's discharge curve. The new cell holds voltage differently at each capacity point, so the coulomb counter loses track and the percentage jumps around. Run one full cycle — drain the phone to auto-shutdown, then charge it straight to 100% without interrupting the charge. After that single cycle the fuel gauge resets its reference to the new cell and the percentage stabilises.
The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery compartment for the first few charges after fitting the BP-6M-S — is something wrong?
A fresh cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. During the constant-current phase of charging, the charge IC pushes current into that higher impedance, which generates more heat than you'd see on a cycled cell. This is normal for the first two or three charges and reduces as the cell's impedance settles. If warmth continues beyond the third full charge or the phone becomes hot to the touch, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection forces the charge IC to compensate, creating sustained excess heat.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after replacing the battery — the phone charges slowly now even with the original fast charger.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes falls back to standard 500mA charging because it has not yet confirmed the new BMS can accept high-current input safely. This is a one-cycle protection behaviour. Complete one full standard charge to 100%, then unplug and plug back in with the fast charger. The charge IC renegotiates the current profile with the new BMS on reconnection and fast charge resumes at the correct rate.
