Fits Mobistel Cynus T8 smartphone; replaces OEM battery part BTY26190.
3.8V, 2000mAh cell powers calls, messaging, and apps on this handset.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with no locking tab.
We bench-tested this pack on a Cynus T8 unit; BMS accepted charge without fault codes and held voltage stable through discharge cycles.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mobistel Cynus T8 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTY26190)

This is a 3.8V, 2000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Mobistel Cynus T8 smartphone. It slots into the original battery bay and restores power to calls, messaging, and apps. Dimensions are 72.05 × 57.01 × 4.35mm — check these against your compartment before installing.

  • Cynus T8 fit: This cell matches the BTY26190 OEM part number and the same connector pinout and voltage rail the Cynus T8 power management IC expects. No modification needed at the hardware level.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a smartphone test rig. The BMS accepted a standard charge handshake without rejecting current or tripping an overvoltage fault.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use after swapping this cell in, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC on the Cynus T8 is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one slow cycle lets it reset its coulomb counter against the new cell before high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Cynus T8 after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. The Cynus T8's modem and display draw enough current during peak load that a new, uncalibrated cell can't sustain voltage above the shutdown threshold — even when the fuel gauge still reads 25%. The power management IC cuts the rail to protect the cell. Running one full slow discharge cycle allows the fuel gauge IC to map the new cell's actual voltage curve and stop triggering early cutoffs.

Cynus T8 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge over time, and if the replacement battery dropped below 2.5V per cell during storage, the BMS will have entered lockout mode to prevent damage. The phone won't power on and may not respond to a charger at all. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing the power button. If the BMS recovers, the phone will show a low-battery screen; from there, charge to at least 3.6V before booting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Mobistel Cynus T8 show the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new cell?

The fuel gauge IC inside the Cynus T8 uses a coulomb counter calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. When you fit a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches actual voltage behaviour, so the percentage reading drifts. Run one complete discharge — use the phone normally until it shuts off automatically — then charge it fully without interruption. After that single cycle, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates its counter against the new cell and percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working on my Cynus T8 after I put in the replacement battery — why?

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, some charge controllers won't negotiate a high-current protocol until the BMS has completed at least one full handshake at standard current. This is normal behaviour. Charge the phone once at standard speed using the original wall adapter — not a third-party fast charger — and let it reach 100% without unplugging early. On the second cycle, fast charging should resume as the BMS confirms cell impedance is within the expected range for high-current input.

My Cynus T8 gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — is that a fault?

New Li-ion cells typically have slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, which means more energy converts to heat during the initial charge cycles. This is expected and reduces after three to five cycles as the cell's impedance settles. Keep the phone out of a case for the first two or three charges to let heat dissipate freely. If the back of the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably, disconnect the charger and let it cool to room temperature before resuming — then check that the charge IC is not stuck in a continuous top-up loop above 4.2V.
