This 3.7V, 6000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM cell in the LiftMaster Wireless Video Keypad (LM-VKP1-LM). It powers the keypad's video capture, motion detection, and wireless access control functions at your garage entry point. When the original cell fails to hold a charge, this replacement restores full operation without any wiring changes.

  • LiftMaster VKP1-LM platform fit: The LiftMaster Wireless Video Keypad runs its camera module, IR LEDs, and wireless radio from a single 3.7V Li-ion cell. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector spec, so the BMS handshake completes correctly on power-up.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through simulated motion-trigger cycles — camera wake, IR LED burst, video encode, and wireless transmission. The BMS held steady across each combined current spike without tripping into protection mode.

Camera going offline in the myQ app after battery swap

Replacing the battery clears the keypad's active session token. The myQ app loses its authenticated connection to the device and shows it as offline even though the battery is charged. This is a firmware state issue, not a hardware fault. Open the myQ app, remove the device, and re-add it through the standard pairing process to restore the connection.

myQ app reporting 0% or incorrect charge percentage after install

The LiftMaster keypad uses a voltage-threshold indicator to estimate charge level — it does not use a fuel gauge IC. A fresh cell sitting at resting voltage can read incorrectly until the firmware calibrates its threshold map. Run the keypad through one full charge and at least one deep discharge before trusting the percentage readout. After that cycle, the indicator should track within a few percent of actual state of charge.

My LiftMaster video keypad keeps missing motion events after I put in the new battery — the camera wakes up but nothing saves to myQ

The IR LED array and camera processor draw a combined current spike on each motion trigger. If the BMS in a fresh cell hasn't fully initialised, it can interrupt that burst and drop the recording before it completes. Power cycle the keypad through the myQ app immediately after install — this forces firmware to register the new cell's voltage baseline. After that, motion events should capture and upload without dropout.

The keypad records fine during the day but stops detecting anything overnight — what's happening?

Sustained IR LED draw during low-light hours is one of the highest continuous loads the keypad pulls. If the cell voltage sags under that load, the BMS throttles output and the IR array dims or shuts off, killing night detection. Check the charge level in the myQ app the morning after a full night of operation — if it's below 20%, the cell is discharging faster than expected under IR load and you should confirm the replacement cell is seated and making clean contact with both terminals.

The myQ app shows the keypad charging but the battery percentage never climbs above the level it was at when I installed it

The voltage-threshold indicator in the LiftMaster keypad can lock its reported percentage if the BMS didn't receive a clean charge handshake at power-up. Disconnect the battery, wait 30 seconds, reconnect it, then place the keypad on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle. The firmware recalibrates its threshold map at the end of a complete charge cycle, and the percentage readout should update correctly once the charger signals full at 4.2V.
