Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nintendo Switch 2 BEE-001 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BEE-003)

This is a 3.7V, 4800mAh lithium-polymer battery for the Nintendo Switch 2 handheld console (BEE-001). It replaces the original cell when capacity has faded or the battery no longer holds a usable charge. Fits the BEE-001 chassis and uses OEM part number BEE-003.

  • Switch 2 BEE-001 compatibility: The BEE-001 board uses a single-cell Li-Polymer architecture with a dedicated fuel gauge IC that tracks coulomb counting. This replacement cell matches the original voltage rail and connector pinout so the BMS handshake completes without error flags.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on the BEE-001 board and confirmed the charge IC accepted the new cell, the fuel gauge registered correctly, and the protection circuit tripped at the correct low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • First-cycle calibration on Switch 2: After installing, run one complete wireless play session to automatic low-battery shutdown before recharging. The fuel gauge IC on the BEE-001 board sets its empty reference point against the first full discharge — skipping this step causes inaccurate percentage readings from the start.

Fuel gauge jumping or freezing after cell swap on the Switch 2

The BEE-001 uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that builds a model of the cell's discharge curve over time. When you fit a new cell, that stored model no longer matches the new cell's actual curve, so the reported percentage can jump, freeze, or drop suddenly. This resolves across three to five full charge-discharge cycles as the IC rewrites its internal table. Until then, treat the percentage as approximate and watch for the low-battery warning rather than the number itself.

Switch 2 not charging the new cell at full rate

The Switch 2 charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it first sees an unfamiliar cell — this is a built-in safety behaviour, not a fault with the replacement battery. The charge rate typically steps up to the full rate after the first complete cycle once the IC confirms the cell is stable. If the console is still charging slowly after two full cycles, check that the USB-C port is delivering at least 5V/1.5A — underpowered chargers lock the IC into trickle mode regardless of cell state.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Switch 2 percentage dropped from 40% to 3% instantly and then shut off — did I install the battery wrong?

The cell is almost certainly seated correctly. This is the fuel gauge IC reading from a stale discharge model that no longer matches the new cell's actual curve. Run one full charge to 100%, then play to automatic shutdown without interrupting — the IC rewrites its reference point against that first full cycle. After two to three cycles the percentage steps should stabilise across the full range.

Switch 2 is showing a charging symbol but the percentage hasn't moved in an hour after fitting the new battery.

The charge IC applies a low-rate preconditioning current when it first sees a new cell, which can look like no progress on the percentage for the first 30–60 minutes. This is normal behaviour and clears after the first complete charge cycle. If it still hasn't moved past the initial percentage after two hours, verify your charger is delivering at least 5V/1.5A — anything below that locks the IC into trickle mode. Swap to a USB-C charger rated for Nintendo Switch and restart the charge.

Play time feels noticeably shorter than expected even after a full charge on the replacement cell.

New Li-Polymer cells don't deliver their full rated capacity straight out of the box — the electrolyte and electrode interfaces need conditioning. We see the BEE-003 cell reach close to its 4800mAh rated capacity by the third to fifth full charge-discharge cycle. Run complete cycles — charge fully, play to automatic cutoff, recharge — rather than topping up partway, and capacity will step up with each cycle. If play time is still noticeably short after five full cycles, check that the console's battery settings aren't limiting performance mode.
