Fits Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers HAC-006, HAC-015, HAC-016, and HAC-A-JCR-C0 models.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 520mAh delivers the same wireless play window as OEM packs before voltage sag cuts the controller off.
Connector is a single-pin pogo contact on the battery top — slides straight into the Joy-Con slot and seats flush against the plastic clip.
We bench-tested this cell in a HAC-015 Joy-Con under wireless plus rumble load; BMS showed clean voltage curve with no early cutoff or protection trips.
On first use after installing, run one complete wireless play session to full automatic cutoff before recharging — the console fuel gauge calibrates against that first full discharge to set the empty reference point.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nintendo Switch Controller — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HAC-006)

This 3.7V 520mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers. It fits the HAC-015, HAC-016, HAC-A-JCR-C0, and related Joy-Con variants. OEM part numbers HAC-006 and HAC-BPJPA-C0 both cross-reference to this cell.

  • Joy-Con HAC-015 and HAC-016 compatibility: Both left and right Joy-Con units share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and connector orientation. One cell spec covers both controllers — no separate left or right variant exists at the battery level.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Switch's charge IC and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge handshake without fault flags. Capacity reporting stabilised after the first full discharge cycle on the console.
  • First-cycle calibration on Joy-Con: After installing, run one complete wireless play session to automatic cutoff before recharging. The Joy-Con fuel gauge IC sets its empty reference point against the first full discharge curve — skipping this step causes the battery indicator to jump or report inaccurately for weeks.

Joy-Con fuel gauge jumping after a cell swap

The Switch reads battery state through a fuel gauge IC inside the Joy-Con, not a simple voltage divider. When a new cell goes in, the IC still holds the discharge curve data from the old degraded cell. This mismatch causes the indicator to skip segments or report full charge when voltage is already dropping. One complete discharge-to-cutoff cycle overwrites the reference and realigns the gauge to the new cell's actual curve.

Controller disconnecting before the battery indicator hits empty

Joy-Cons draw combined load from the wireless radio, HD rumble motor, and IR camera simultaneously. Under that combined draw, cell voltage can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge registers low. This is a real-load voltage sag issue, not a pairing fault. If disconnects happen consistently during rumble-heavy games, check that the replacement cell is seated flat with no pressure on the connector — a partial connection raises internal resistance and worsens sag.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Joy-Con show full battery then die suddenly after replacing the cell?

The fuel gauge IC inside the Joy-Con calibrates its empty reference point against the original cell's discharge curve — it doesn't auto-reset when you swap hardware. After a cell replacement, the stored curve no longer matches the new cell, so the indicator appears full right up until voltage drops below the BMS cutoff. Run one complete wireless session to automatic shutdown, then charge fully, and the gauge will recalibrate against the new cell's actual curve.

My replacement Joy-Con battery charges slowly — the console shows it's charging but barely moves after an hour. Is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. The Switch charge IC applies a conservative current limit on cells it hasn't logged a full cycle for yet — this is normal first-cycle behaviour, not a fault. We observed the same slow initial charge rate on the bench; it cleared after one complete discharge and recharge cycle. Let the controller run to automatic cutoff once, then charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the charge rate will normalise.

The Joy-Con keeps disconnecting mid-game after I replaced the battery — could it be how I reassembled it?

Yes. The most common cause is the battery connector not fully seated after reassembly — a partial connection increases internal resistance, which causes voltage to sag sharply under the combined draw of the wireless radio and HD rumble motor. Open the controller and press the ribbon connector firmly until it clicks flat with no lift at the edges. If disconnects only happen during rumble-heavy sequences, that combined load is the trigger — confirm the connector is fully seated and the cell sits flat in the bay without bowing.
