Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nokia 5.1 Plus / 6.1 Plus / X5 / X6 2018 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HE342 / HE361)
This is a 3.85V, 3000mAh (11.55Wh) Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original Nokia HE342 and HE361 batteries. It fits the Nokia 5.1 Plus, 6.1 Plus, X5 (TA-1109), and X6 2018. If your original battery no longer holds charge or the phone shuts down unexpectedly under load, this cell restores the power supply to factory spec.
- Nokia 5.1 Plus / 6.1 Plus / X5 / X6 2018 compatibility: These four models share the same HE342 and HE361 cell format, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake protocol is identical across the group, so one SKU covers all four without any hardware modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a Nokia 5.1 Plus. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, protection circuits responded correctly at high-current screen-on and modem load spikes, and the charge IC cycled cleanly without faults.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use after fitting this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated coulomb counter.
Why the Nokia 5.1 Plus reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The MediaTek fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. After a replacement, that stored curve no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage profile. The IC reads voltage and maps it to a percentage using stale data, so the number on screen can be off by 10–20%. One full discharge from 100% down to auto-shutdown, followed by a full uninterrupted charge, forces the IC to rewrite its calibration data against the new cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still using the old cell's calibration and the reported percentage does not reflect true state of charge. As load spikes under modem activity or screen brightness, cell voltage drops sharply below the BMS cutoff threshold — around 3.0V — before the OS has time to issue a low-battery warning. The fix is the same single full discharge-charge cycle that recalibrates the coulomb counter. After calibration, shutdowns at falsely reported 20–30% stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Nokia 5.1 Plus won't turn on at all after the battery sat in a drawer for months — is it dead?
The BMS locks the cell out when voltage drops below roughly 2.5V during extended storage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, then normal charging resumes. If the screen shows nothing after 40 minutes on wall power, check that the battery connector is fully seated on the board.
Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the replacement — the phone just charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes refuses the USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake because the BMS presents higher impedance on a fresh cell. Run one full charge at standard rate, then disconnect and reconnect the charger. Most Nokia 5.1 Plus units re-accept the fast-charge handshake on the second connection once the cell has been through an initial charge cycle. If fast charging still does not activate after that, confirm you are using a charger that supports the Nokia fast-charge voltage profile.
The battery percentage on my Nokia 5.1 Plus jumps around erratically — it skipped from 45% to 12% in minutes.
Erratic percentage jumps are the fuel gauge IC recalibrating in real time against a new cell it has never seen before. The IC is making live corrections as it measures actual cell voltage against its stored discharge model, causing visible jumps. Run one uninterrupted full discharge — let the phone power itself off naturally — then charge to 100% without unplugging mid-cycle. After that single calibration cycle, the coulomb counter stabilises and percentage readings track the actual cell state accurately.
