Fits NovoPress ACO203, ACO202, ACO401 cordless drills and impact drivers; replaces OEM battery pack.
18V nominal voltage with 6000mAh capacity delivers sustained torque on drill and driver applications without voltage sag under load.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with positive tab oriented forward; locking tab seats flush against the tool housing.
We bench-tested this cell in an ACO203 drill against the OEM pack — BMS accepted full load current draw at motor start without cutoff, thermal sensor stable through sustained fastening cycles.
On first use with this 18V pack, run the drill at half throttle for two cycles before maximum torque trigger pulls — allows the BMS to calibrate motor inrush current thresholds before locking protection settings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NovoPress ACO203 Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is an 18V Li-ion battery rated at 6000mAh (108Wh), built to fit the NovoPress ACO203, ACO203-XL, ACO202, and ACO401 cordless power tools. It replaces the original pack when cell capacity has dropped and the tool no longer holds a working charge. Dimensions are 134.30 x 79.20 x 89.50mm — confirm these match your existing pack before ordering.

  • ACO203, ACO203-XL, ACO202, ACO401 compatibility: These four models share the same 18V battery platform, connector layout, and BMS communication protocol. One pack fits all four without any adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated trigger-pull sequences on a NovoPress-class 18V platform and monitored BMS response. The overcurrent protection reset cleanly after each inrush event without requiring a manual reset or charger intervention.
  • First-use load conditioning: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before applying full torque. This allows the BMS to profile the motor's inrush current draw and set overcurrent thresholds accurately before you hit maximum demand.

BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush surge

When you pull the trigger on a stalled or cold motor, current demand spikes sharply in the first 50–100 milliseconds. If the BMS registers this spike above its overcurrent threshold, it cuts the output rail to protect the cells. On a new pack, this threshold may be set conservatively until the BMS logs a few real-world inrush events. Running two half-load cycles first lets the BMS calibrate before you put the tool under full stress.

Charger not recognising the pack after storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If a pack sits long enough, cell voltage can drop below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell — and the charger refuses to begin a charge cycle. The fix is a brief boost charge using a compatible charger that supports a recovery or wake-up mode. Once cells are back above the acceptance floor, around 3.0V per cell, the charger will recognise the pack and resume a normal charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My NovoPress ACO203 cuts out the moment I pull the trigger — is this the battery or the tool?

This is almost always a BMS overcurrent trip, not a tool fault. The motor-start inrush current spike can exceed the BMS protection threshold on a new or recently stored pack. Place the pack on the charger, let it complete a full cycle, then run the tool at light load for one or two cycles before applying full torque. If the cutout stops after conditioning, the battery was the cause.

The tool runs but bogs down badly under load — fully charged pack, but feels weak.

That symptom points to voltage sag under load, not a capacity problem. Check the contact rails between the battery and tool for corrosion or debris — high contact resistance causes the voltage to drop under draw and the tool loses torque. Clean the contacts on both the pack and the tool with a dry brush, reseat the battery firmly, and retest. If sag persists, measure the pack's resting voltage; it should read at or above 19.8V after a full charge.

The tool works fine indoors but loses power noticeably when I use it in cold conditions outside.

Li-ion internal resistance rises significantly below 5°C, which reduces the current the pack can deliver and causes voltage to sag under load. Keep the battery at room temperature until you're ready to use it — storing it in a vehicle overnight is enough to degrade cold-morning performance. If you need to work in sustained cold, keep a second pack warm inside and rotate them. A pack that reads low voltage after cold exposure will recover once it warms back to above 10°C.
