Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Orgapack OR-T300 Series — 12V 1500mAh Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 12V 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Orgapack OR-T300, OR-T200, and OR-T100 cordless plastic strapping tools. These portable battery-operated strapping machines are used in warehouse, logistics, and shipping environments where continuous strap tensioning and sealing puts real demand on the power cell. Capacity is 1500mAh (18Wh) — taken directly from product data.
- OR-T100, OR-T200, OR-T300 platform fit: All three tools in this Orgapack series share the same 12V battery form factor, connector footprint, and BMS communication handshake — which is why one cell services the full range. Swapping across models within the series does not require reconfiguration.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated tensioning sequences on a strap tool bench rig. The BMS held cutoff thresholds steady across the motor-start inrush spikes that occur each time the drive mechanism engages, with no nuisance trips during normal cycle loads.
- Ni-MH reconditioning before warehouse use: Ni-MH cells shipped in storage discharge can develop voltage depression if put straight into heavy rotation. Run two full charge-discharge cycles on the Orgapack charger before putting the pack into a full shift — this lets the cells stabilise at their rated capacity ceiling before sustained strapping loads.
BMS cutoff on motor-start inrush during strap tensioning
Every time the OR-T300 starts a tension cycle, the drive motor pulls a short inrush spike before settling to running current. On a Ni-MH pack that has been sitting partially discharged, internal resistance is elevated — and that spike can push the instantaneous current draw past the BMS overcurrent threshold, tripping the protection circuit before the motor even reaches speed. This is not a fault in the battery; it is a voltage-state problem. Charge the pack fully to 14.4V before the shift and the BMS will handle the inrush without nuisance cutoffs.
Tool bogs mid-strap and loses tension force before cycle completes
If the OR-T300 starts a strap cycle but the tensioning arm slows or stalls before reaching target tension, the cause is voltage sag — the pack cannot hold the rail voltage under sustained motor load. On Ni-MH chemistry, this worsens as cells age through repeated shallow cycling where the tool is recharged after every few straps rather than run to a meaningful depth of discharge. Check the battery contact rails on the tool for corrosion or debris first — poor contact resistance amplifies sag dramatically. If contacts are clean and sag still occurs, the cells have lost capacity and the pack needs replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions
The OR-T300 cuts out the moment I pull the trigger — is that the battery or the tool?
That is the BMS tripping on motor-start inrush current. When a Ni-MH pack is partially discharged, internal resistance rises enough that the trigger-pull spike exceeds the overcurrent protection threshold before the motor reaches running speed. It is almost always the battery state, not the tool. Charge the pack fully and retry — a full charge brings internal resistance down and the BMS will handle the inrush cleanly.
My charger never moves past the blinking red light on this Orgapack battery — what is happening?
A blinking red light on the Orgapack charger typically means the pack voltage has dropped below the charger's acceptance threshold, which happens when a Ni-MH battery has been left discharged in storage. Most chargers will not initiate a full charge cycle on a cell reading below roughly 9V. Try a trickle or recovery charge if your charger supports it — hold the pack at a low charge rate until it climbs above 10.5V, at which point the standard charge cycle should engage normally.
The strapping tool works fine in the warehouse but loses power noticeably in the cold loading dock — what causes that?
Ni-MH cells show a measurable rise in internal resistance below 10°C, which reduces the current the pack can deliver under load. In a warm warehouse the battery performs at rated capacity; on a cold dock the same pack sags earlier in the strap tension cycle. This is a chemistry characteristic, not a defect. Keep a second charged pack in a warm area and rotate them — the pack warming back to room temperature will recover its full output before the next cycle.
