Fits Oricom Secure SC740 and SC895 parent units; replaces OEM part NV604464.
3.7V 1400mAh lithium-ion cell delivers stable voltage for consistent audio and video transmission during monitoring sessions.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with positive terminal forward; no locking tab on this unit.
We ran a full charge cycle on the SC740 parent unit—BMS accepted the cell without fault codes and held voltage under sustained IR night vision draw.
After battery swap, re-pair the parent unit with the camera unit using the sync button—wireless connection drops when the parent unit fully loses power.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oricom Secure SC740 / SC895 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NV604464)

This is a 3.7V 1400mAh (5.18Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Oricom Secure SC740 and Secure SC895 baby monitor parent units. Part number NV604464 matches the OEM connector and BMS handshake on both models. Fit the battery and the parent unit powers on — no modification needed.

  • SC740 and SC895 shared platform: Both models run the same parent unit hardware, share the NV604464 battery footprint, and use the same 3.7V charging circuit. One battery covers both units without any wiring changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the SC895 parent unit. The BMS accepted the charge handshake immediately and held a stable output voltage across screen-on and screen-off states.
  • Re-pair after power interruption: When the parent unit drops to zero volts — as it does during a battery swap — it loses its stored link to the camera unit. After fitting this battery, run the pairing sequence from the SC740 or SC895 menu before expecting live video feed.

Parent unit battery draining overnight with screen on

The SC740 and SC895 parent units draw significantly more current when the LCD backlight stays active through the night. A 1400mAh cell at 3.7V has a fixed energy budget, and continuous screen-on operation is the single biggest drain on that budget. The parent unit has a screen timeout setting in the display menu — activating it cuts the overnight draw considerably. Set screen timeout to the shortest interval that still lets you check the display without waking the baby.

Night vision not working after fitting a new battery

The infrared LEDs in the camera unit need the parent unit to be operating above a minimum voltage threshold to maintain a stable wireless link and request the IR mode. If the parent unit battery is partially discharged straight out of the box, the radio signal can be weak enough to drop the IR command. Charge the parent unit to full before testing night vision — a fully charged cell sits at approximately 4.2V. If night vision still fails after a full charge, re-pair the parent and camera units and test again.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Oricom SC740 parent unit won't connect to the camera after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?

When the parent unit fully loses power during a battery swap, it clears the stored wireless pairing with the camera. The units do not automatically re-link on power-up. Go into the parent unit menu and run the camera pairing sequence manually — the SC740 prompts you to press the pair button on the camera unit during this process. Once paired, the live feed restores immediately.

The range on my SC895 parent unit seems shorter since I put in a new battery — is that normal?

The radio transmitter in the parent unit is voltage-sensitive, and a new Li-ion cell shipped in storage state typically arrives between 3.6V and 3.8V — below the 4.2V full charge. At lower voltage, the radio operates with reduced output power, which cuts usable range. Charge the parent unit fully before judging range. A full charge to 4.2V restores the transmitter to its rated output.

The SC740 parent unit shows charging but the battery percentage barely moves — what's causing it?

This usually points to a BMS reset condition where the fuel gauge has lost its calibration reference after a deep discharge. Run the parent unit down until it powers off automatically, then charge it in one uninterrupted session to full — the BMS recalibrates the state-of-charge reading during this cycle. Do not unplug mid-charge. After one full discharge-to-charge cycle, the percentage reading should track accurately again.
